Assembly (by adults)

To adjust the gears of the BalanzBike, you have to do the following (this is only valid for the BF-3 version)
Put the function cable (is placed on the steering chassis) in the stop holder (picture1)
Switch the system in part "3" (picture 2). Move the crank arm forwards to control if the gear fits in part "3".
Now slide the clamper bush (picture 3) over the puller pin until the shifting cable is almost tight. Pay attention, not to pull the small
shifter chain off the guider roll. The small shifter chain now has about 2 mm lateral backlash.
Check whether the cable is fitted in good position at both ends.
Be aware that the gear cable does not make any sharp bends, this results in difficult shifting gear.

To check:
•
Put she shifter "1" and move the crank arm forwards.
•
Too loose: if in 1st gear, you can pull out the small chain out further over the guider roll by hand.
•
Too tight: if it is difficult to get the shifter in "1".
•
If necessary: Make new adjustment to cable (in "3")
Please check everything before using the vehicle.
Checklist:
• Check whether all bolts and nuts are fitted.
• Check the pressure of the tires.
• Check whether the gears and brake function properly.

How it works

Brake:
Braking happens by pedaling backwards (during riding forwards). By fast (slipping) braking, you will enlarge wearing out of the
front tire.
Gears: (only valid with BF-3 version)
When riding away you start in first gear (1). During riding you can shift to second gear and at least to third (highest) gear. When
pedaling backwards, you have to shift the system in the lowest gear.
Steering:
Steering is possible by shifting your weight into the direction you want to go to. Use the steering handles as support whilst riding.
Do not drive without using your hands. By movements through your legs you will cause un-balance in the frame at the front, you
may loose control of the vehicle.
Adjustable seat:
Be aware that during riding your seat is in the right position with regard to the pedals. In that way, you can drive safely. The first
position is meant for short persons and the most back position for taller persons.
