CAUTION!
No coolant is used during cutting therefore the cut must
be made as quickly as possible to prevent the blade and
work piece from unnecessary overheating.
- Do not, under any circumstances, use the upper
surface for cutting aluminum or steel ( T 777 CE).
- Work gloves, goggles and protective earphones
must be worn at all times when cutting the steel.
6.11 USING THE GONIOMETER (fig. 12 )
The goniometer, which is used to adjust the inclination of
the end stroke shaft, can be used to perform cuts up to
45° with a cutting capacity of 80 x 45 mm (fig.12).
In order to perform this type of cutting operations:
- Loosen the knob securing the guide bracket A and
withdraw the goniometer from its housing, sliding it into
the position located on the side of the upper surface.
- Loosen knob B to release the goniometer and rotate it
to the desired angle. Then lock in place.
- In order to prevent interference with the blade,
loosen knob C to adjust the length of the guide shaft,
positioning it fully to the left; i.e. level with its support
guide. Then lock in position once more.
- Rest the work piece on the guide shaft, start up the
machine and slide the full length of the goniometer,
together with the work piece, against the blade - taking
care to keep the hands well away from the blade. The
use of a pusher is recommended (fig. 31). In this
manner slanted cuts can also be carried out with the
use of the upper surface.
6.12 VARIOUS ACCESSORIES
The machine is equipped with incorporated suction unit
union A (fig. 14) and can therefore be easily connected
to any FELISATTI dust extractor.
- Model AS 35/E is fitted with a remote control mechanism.
The electronic switch can be connected by simply
plugging it into the socket on the suction unit. This
provides a significant saving in time (fig.14-15).
- As the machine has been designed for work on
construction sites it has been constructed in cast
aluminum. It is strong and at the same time light in
weight, thus making it suitable for easy carrying around
the work site.
For this purpose, on request, a folding support ST 43 can
be supplied. This support can be adjusted to different
heights as needed. It is also light, strong and can easily
be transported together with the mitre saw.
- If operations on extra long profiles need to be
performed, the roller support can be used (supplied
on request). This support can be adjusted to different
heights, so that work can always be carried out on the
same level as the mitre saw (fig. 15-30).
- A work surface extension is also available. This piece
is inserted into special holes located on the side of the
base, making it possible to operate on work pieces
which are longer than the base itself (fig.30).
6.13 CUTTING SMALL PIECES
Working operations with small sized pieces must be
carried out using the special tools.
- On the lower surface: Use the clamp to fit the piece
and the end stroke shafts in order to attain the desired
measure.
- On the upper surface: Use the special pushers in order
to move the piece forward (fig. 31).
In all circumstances it is absolutely forbidden to keep the
hands on the piece that is to be cut.
6.14 IMPROPER USE
The functions and use of this tool are those exclusively
indicated in this manual.
It is explicitly forbidden any other use of the tool.
- Do not cut aluminum or steel on the upper surface.
- Always use well-sharpened blades and only blades
suitable for the type of cutting operation that is to
be performed.
- Do not use the machine without the described
protective devices.
- Do not use the machine for cutting alimentary
products.
- Only use the machine for cutting wood, aluminum
profiles, PVC pipes, steel pipes and only with suitable
machine.
- The cutting of any other type of materials is explicitly
forbidden.
7
CAUTION - Before carrying out any maintenance
operation, unplug from the mains.
7.1
LUBRICATION
The mitre saw is delivered fully lubricated and does not
require any further lubrication.
7.2
ROUTINE CLEANING
CAUTION - Avoid touching the handgrip with greasy or
oily hands. If you do so, clean thoroughly immediately
afterwards.
- After use, clean the machine carefully with a dry air
jet.
CAUTION - To improve working conditions a shaving
suction hood has been fitted. This can easily be connected
to any Felisatti vacuum device.
7.3
BRUSH CHECK
- Periodically check motor brush wear; if they are less
than 5 to 6 mm long, replace them.
7.4
DISPOSAL
At the end of the machine's working life, or when it can no
longer be repaired, ensure that it is disposed of according
to the standard regulations of the country in which it is
being used, and that the disposal operation is carried out by
specialized personnel following authorized guidelines.
In all circumstances:
- Do not abandon in the environment;
- Do not dispose of together with solid urban waste
products;
- Contact the special recycling centers.
