3.4 Adjusting the cutting depth
Turn the adjusting wheel (C) until the required cutting depth can be seen at the marking.
3.5 Dust exhaust
The tool may only be used with a dust exhaustion. A good ventilation of the working place has to be
ensured! The vacuum cleaner must be adapted for exhausting stone dust and show sufficient suction
speed. Additionally, a dust -protective mask has to be worn according to DIN/EN against fine dust.
Put the hose in the suction nozzle (E).
3.6 Area of use
This tool is solely determined for cutting slots and separation of mainly mineral materials (e.g. reinforced conc-
rete, masonry, tiles, pavements) without water. Materials releasing noxious dust or steam during the work may
not be treated. Improper use may cause injury or damage the tool; thus the user is liable.
3.7 Using the equipment
Put the machine with the roller idlers against the wall. Press the unlock switch (B) to the first stage (slight trig-
ger slag) and switch on the tool by means of the contact flip-flop (A). After starting the motor, press the unlock
switch (B) to the second stage, insert the machine slowly in the wall up to the depth stop and then press toward
the direction of cutting .
Please note: For attaining quick and gentle operation results, deep cuttings have to be executed in two different
steps: pre-cut with smaller depth then finalize the cutting until the desired depth.

3.8 Motor protection

Automatic stop: overload
If the machine continues to be overloaded, the machine will stop. When the load has been reduced, the machine
starts again automatically and progressively. Let it reach the maximum speed of rotation before starting work
again.
Automatic stop: thermal
If the machine works fora long time on overload, the motor is protected against overheating by an automatic
thermal stop which stops the current. After a cooling time of about 30 seconds, the equipment can be started
again.
3.9 Reasons for overheating the disks
• too high contact pressure
• work on a slant
• bad quality of the diamond
• dull diamond disks (regrind with grindstone)
• used diamond disks
3.10 Maintenance
Keep the venting slots always clean. The machine has self-disconnecting carbon brushes. When the brushes
are worn, the motor will switch-off automatically, then a routine-service is necessary. For maintenance and repair
servicing, any GÖLZ branch is available. Further details can be obtained from your local branch.
