Starting the document shredder
Important note:
This device is designed solely for private use in enclosed quarters and for
brief operation not exceeding 2 minutes.

1. READY (automatic start): When you push the FORWARD button, the
shredding operation will start automatically once the document to be
shredded is inserted in the feed slot.

Only insert paper, CD/DVD's and credit cards into the designated feed

2. FORWARD>>/REVERSE<< (forward and reverse operation): These two
buttons make the cutting unit turn forward or backward. With these
functions paper jams can be removed (please refer to chapter "Protection
against paper jams and overloading").
3. ON/OFF (on/off switch): The ON/ OFF key interrupts the power supply of
the unit. Disconnect the document shredder when you empty the waste
basket or if the unit is not used for a prolonged period of time.
Capacity of the document shredder
The 1501 XCD shreds up to 15 sheets of paper (DIN A4, 80g/ m²). The paper width
may comprise up to 22 cm. When shredding small paper sizes such as letters or
credit card receipts, please insert them into the middle of the shredding slot.
Please ensure that never more than the above-mentioned maximum quantity is
inserted in the shredder. Otherwise the device may sustain damage.
Separate shredder for CD's/ DVD and credit cards
This document shredder is equipped with a separate shredder for CDs/ DVDs and a
separate insert for credit cards. CDs/ DVDs are shredded into
such materials always present the risk of splinters, please keep your face at an
acceptable distance when inserting CDs/ DVDs. This is in order to avoid
serious injuries. The shredded material is then collected in a separate tray thereby
facilitating its environmentally-friendly disposal.
