Before using the antenna, read these instructions carefully.
A
Possibly avoid to place antenna on the TV set. Keep away from metal objects, electrical
appliances or reinforced concrete walls which could affect operation.
B
- Turn the television or video recorder off before connecting the antenna.
- If the television or video recorder is already connected to an external antenna, disconnect
it and connect it to the EXT input on the back of the Meliconi antenna.
- Connect the cable of the Meliconi antenna to the antenna socket on the back of the
television.
- Connect the power cable of the Meliconi antenna to a 230-240V socket.
- Turn the antenna on. The ON light comes on.
You can now receive UHF and VHF television signals. Follow the instructions supplied
with your television to synchronise the channels.
C
Better signal reception can be reached by changing the antenna position or by moving
its side (VHF and FM) and central (UHF and digital terrestrial) aerials.
Reception may be further improved by changing the position of the antenna or
increasing/reducing amplification using the knob on the front of the antenna. Bear in mind
that maximum amplification does not always provide best signal quality.
To reduce amplification, turn the knob anticlockwise; to increase it, turn clockwise.
NOTE: If you live near a broadcasting antenna, to avoid image interference, you should
lower the central aerial and reduce amplification.
D
The ON/EXT button sends the signals from an external source to the television. If, for
example, you connect the antenna of your apartment block to the EXT input on the back
of the Meliconi antenna, you can choose to send the signal from the Meliconi antenna
or the signal from the apartment block antenna to the television. When the Meliconi
antenna is on, the television will receive the signal from the Meliconi antenna and the ON
light comes on. If you now press the ON/EXT button, the antenna will go off and the
television will receive the signal from the EXT input (eg. the apartment block antenna).
The EXT light will now be on.
If you have an external antenna, by using the handy ON/EXT button on the front of the
device you can choose which channels you want to see via the Meliconi antenna and
which via the external antenna.
Thank you for choosing a MELICONI product.
