FUNCTION
• The mosquito trap is equipped with a 7W UV light that attracts flying insects. When
the insects approach the trap, they are sucked in by a powerful fan and collected in a
collection container, where they subsequently die of dehydration.
• We recommend installing this product early in spring in order to limit the number of
mosquitoes while their numbers are still low.
• In order to maximise the effectiveness of the mosquito trap, we recommend using it
together with the tried-and-tested bait octenol. See section OCTENOL TABLET. (Sold
separately by Rusta). PLEASE NOTE! Octenol is only suitable for outdoor use.
• PLEASE NOTE! Most of the insects die when they pass through the fan and are
thrown against the inside of the mosquito trap Others end up in the collection
container, where they quickly dry out and die. See the instructions about removing
the insects and cleaning the collection container in the section MAINTENANCE.
LOCATION
• The mosquito trap is effective over an area up to 100 m
right location for it to work successfully.
• Female mosquitoes also feed on moisture-rich nectar and fruit juices when they are
not looking for blood. They can normally be found in forests, around flowers, trees,
bushes and other plants, as well as close to water.
• For best results, put the mosquito trap 4–8 metres from areas where people are
active, close to bushes (but not inside bushes), woody areas or close to standing
water (except for swimming pools).
• Mosquitoes fly low, 40–60 cm from ground level. We therefore recommend putting
the mosquito trap on the legs provided or hanging it up using the hook at the top of
the mosquito trap.
• The mosquito trap is IPX4 classified, i.e. it can withstand rain and bad weather, but we
recommend placing it in a protected location.
OCTENOL TABLET (only for outdoor use)
• In order to maximise the effectiveness of the mosquito trap, we recommend using
it together with the tried-and-tested bait octenol. See OCTENOL TABLET. (Sold
separately by Rusta). PLEASE NOTE! Octenol is only suitable for outdoor use.
• Octenol is sold in a specially formulated tablet that contains octenol
(1- OCTEN- 3- OL). (Sold separately by Rusta).
• Inserting the octenol tablet:
- Remove the octenol tablet from the sealed pouch and peel the protective foil from
the bottom of the tablet. Avoid touching the openings in the tablet and always wash
your hands thoroughly after contact.
- Place the tablet into the collection container.
- The tablet is active for around 30 days.
