1.
INTRODUCTION
Before starting to use the tool please read
the instruction manual carefully.
Use this tool exclusively for its determined use.
Mounting and assembly of connecting material with the
help of this tool must only be performed by specially trai-
ned personnel. The minimum age is 16 years.
This instruction manual has to be carried along during the
entire life span of that tool.
The operator has
• to guarantee the availability of the instruction manual
for the user and
• to make sure, that the user has read and understood
the instruction manual.

LABELS
The labels fi xed on the housing of the pump designate
the type specifi cation, assembly year (at the bottom of
the pump), serial number (under the treadle),the technical
data (at the front and the bottom of the pump), name of
the manufacturer and/or the company logo.
3.

WARRANTY

If correct operation is guaranteed our warranty is 1 year
from the time of delivery unless otherwise specifi ed by
local guidelines and law.

5 INSTALLATION
5.1 Air Supply
Pump operates with 2,8 - 10 bar air pressure. An regu-
lator/fi lter/lubricator should be installed upstream from
pump to provide clean, lubricated air and allow for air
pressure adjustment.
5.2 Air Connections
Attach air supply to the 1/4" NPT swivel connection on
the end of the pump. Use Tefl on tape or similar thread
sealant. Torque to 27-34 Nm.

5.3 Hydraulic Connections
WARNING:
DO NOT release pressure by disconnecting a
pressurized line. Handling pressurized hyd-
raulic lines can result in severe personal injury
caused by sudden release of pressurized oil.
5.4 Venting
This pump must always be vented prior to use. Use either
the "Vent Screw" or "Vent/Fill Plug".
a) Vent Screw: The vent screw is the primary means to
vent the reservoir when the pump is operated in the hori-
zontal position. It is located near the hydraulic outlet port
on top of the reservoir. To use this plug, open the screw
1-2 turns. To avoid damaging the threads when closing
the vent screw, tighten only until screw head contacts the
reservoir cover. The vent screw can NOT be used when
pump is mounted vertically! When mounting in the vertical
position, use the vent/fi ll plug.
b) Vent/Fill Plug: The Vent/Fill plug is located on the air
inlet end of the pump, opposite the vent screw. This plug
serves 3 functions; vent plug, fi ll port, and return-to-tank
port.
To use as a vent (for vertical applications or temporary
venting) pull up on hex plug until fi rst detent is reached.
This is the vented position.
To use as a fi ll port, pull up hex plug past fi rst detent and
remove plug from the reservoir. Oil level should be to bot-
tom of port.
CAUTION:
Pump reservoir must be vented. Failure to do so
may cause cavitation and pump damage.
5.5 Mounting Pump
Pump can be mounted horizontally or vertically. If moun-
ted vertically, position pump with hydraulic outlet port(s)
facing down.
a) Without Mounting Brackets: The four holes in the bot-
tom of the reservoir should be used for bolting through
the mounting surface into the reservoir.
CAUTION:
When mounting the pump in the vertical positi-
on, the vent screw must remain closed.
5.6 Oil Level
Always check oil level with all cylinders or tools in the fully
retracted position. If they are advanced when the pump
is fi lled, the reservoir will be over-fi lled when they are re-
tracted.
Use the low-level sight glass on the end of the pump to
check the oil level. When the pump is mounted horizon-
tally, the reservoir is full when oil is at the bottom of the fi ll
port. If oil is not visible, then oil must be added. To add oil,
remove Vent/Fill plug from reservoir (See chap. 5.4b).
When the pump is mounted vertically, the oil level should
be checked periodically by removing the pump and pla-
cing it on a horizontal surface.
NOTE:
Prior to mounting the pump in the vertical po-
sition, oil volume in the reservoir must be re-
duced to prevent leakage through the vent/fi ll
plug.
