Remove the gasket (20) from the body, clean it and its socket in the body, place the o-ring back in its groove and lightly
lubricate with Vaseline.
Twist the disc „T" back into the position shown in figure 28, where the cut „E" will again match the cut „D" – in the manner
described above.
The control unit (16), set in the position as per figure 28, can now be placed in its socket in the filter cover (1), in reverse
order than in figure 21. For this purpose, place the unit (16) on the cover (1) in such position that the aligned the cut „D"
and „E" of the control unit are exactly above the tongue „C" visible in the cover socket and shown in figure 27. In this posi-
tion the unit (16) should be vigorously pushed into the socket of the cover (1) until refusal.
CAUTION: In other position of the disc „T" and in other position of the control unit (16), its insertion will be impossible.
An attempt to insert an improperly aligned control unit by force may cause destruction of the filter.
Having pushed the control unit (16) in until refusal, twist it back into the original position, shown e.g. in figure 16.
Having finished cleaning, assemble the elements of the inlet/outlet systems in reverse order, according to section 5.4.
7.5. Maintenance of the UV sterilizer (only in types FZKN 500 PLUS and 700 PLUS)
For the purpose of effective operation of the UV sterilizer, regularly clean the quartz cover (42). Under filter maintenance,
in order to conveniently clean the container (11), the UV sterilizer should be removed [we have already mentioned this in
section 7.2, following the comment to figure 23]. This is possible after water has been poured out of the container when, and
all magazines (9) with filtrating media are already removed.
Fig. 30. From the outside, from the side of the bottom of the container (11), remove the quartz cover (42) from the steri-
lizer housing (41), twisting it anticlockwise according to the „OUT" arrow. Along comes out also the complete fitting (44)
and the UV fluorescent lamp (43). Wipe the quartz cover (42) dry from the outside with a soft cloth.
Remove the seal (31) – see figure 32 – clean the seal and its groove, then return it to the groove, lightly lubricate with
Vaseline and set aside.
Remove the housing of the UV sterilizer (41) in reverse than described at figure 6. For this purpose the flow cover (12)
should be slightly raised, and the housing (41) should be twisted out clockwise. Remove the flow cover (12) from the
housing in reverse order than described at figure 5.
Clean the flow cover (12) and the sterilizer housing (41) from the inside and outside.
CAUTION: Inside the housing (41) there is a glass element, which should be particularly carefully handled during cle-
aning of the housing. Do not scrape, use only a bottle brush, in order not to damage the glass! After cleaning make sure
to rinse in clean water. In case the glass breaks, replace the entire housing (41).
After cleaning of the container (11), mount the flow cover (12) and sterilizer housing (41) in the container, in line with
figures 5 and 6.
Fig. 31. From the outside, from the side of the bottom of the container (11), the already cleaned quartz cover (42) – along
with the seal (31), fitting (44) and UV fluorescent lamp (43) – should be carefully slid into the UV sterilizer housing (41) in
the position shown in the figure, and twisted clockwise according to the „IN" arrow until refusal, into the position shown
in figure 30.
Check the tightness, pouring some water into the container (11). After checking pour out the water.
Check the operation of the UV sterilizer, connecting it for a moment to the power supply.
At that, the routine maintenance of the UV sterilizer ends.
In case the sterilizer does not function – that means, after connecting the sterilizer to the power supply the signaling
lamp on its plug stabilizer does not work – during the next filter maintenance replace the fluorescent lamp (43). For thus
purpose, remove the fitting (44) along with the fluorescent lamp (43) from the quartz cover (42), according to the descrip-
tion at figures 4 or 7.
Fig. 32. Remove the old fluorescent lamp from the fitting. Remove the seal (45), clean the seal and its groove, replace it in
the groove and slightly lubricate with Vaseline.
CAUTION: Do not allow water inside the quartz cover (42). If its interior gets wet, it must be carefully wiped dry.
Press the new fluorescent lamp (43) into the fitting (44) until locked.
CAUTION: Do not touch the glass of the fluorescent lamp, remove possible finger marks with a dry cloth.
Place the fitting (44) along with the fluorescent lamp (43) back into the quartz cover (42) and turn anticlockwise until re-
fusal, into the position indicated in figures 4 and 7. Placement of the quartz cover (42) – along with the fitting (44) and the
new UV fluorescent lamp (43) – in the housing (41) of the UV sterilizer should be done according to figure 31.
If the UV sterilizer still does not function after replacement of the fluorescent lamp, report to the manufacturer's service.
