3. Dust
Welding will produce harmful gases and dust, harmful to the body, so it is necessary to take all possible
measures to avoid dust into the respiratory tract.
1> When welding work is carried out in some narrow sites,an exhaust system can be used to discharge
dust or wear a breathing apparatus;
2> Do not use degreasing agents, cleaning agents, sprays, etc. while welding, because strong arc light and
high temperature may lead to a danger;
3> The gas generated during welding will be hazardous to health;
4> Take protective measures to ensure non-toxic and harmless operations;
4. Spatter
WARNING: Welding spatter may cause a fire or explosion!
1> Remove all possible burning materials and items, because the welding spatter may touch these
materials and items, causing a fire;
2> When the welding work area hasany high pressure tank, etc., be sure to take special protective
measures to prevent its explosion;
3> When the welding stops, be sure to guard against the live part of thewelding machine from contact
with the work-piece or work platform, so as to avoid a fire due to accidental strike fire;
4> Never try to weld containers or pipes that have not been verified harmless;
5> Welding, heating and cutting at the opening of containers and large boxes are dangerous. Be sure that
there is no toxic gas or flammable gas at the weld zone before operation. Moreover, care should be
taken to prevent the occurrence of an explosion;
6> The spatter may burn the skin, so wear leather gloves, canvas clothing, ankle shoes, cuff-less work
pants, splash guard helmet, etc., to prevent skin burns. In the case of overhead welding, be sure to
wear protective equipment to avoid being burned. In the areas having intensive welding, it is allowed
to wear goggles when the welding is not carried out.
7> The welding cable should be as close as possible to the welding point. Avoid short circuit fault between
welding cables and other welding machines or electrical equipment. In case of any short circuit, it is
enough for the welding current to bring harm.
5. Electric power
Before the welding machine is installed, maintained or repaired, be sure to cut off the welding machine
power supply switch, so as to avoid safety accident.
1> The welding machine is a special equipment. In accordance with the instructions, the installation
should be performed by persons having knowledge about electricity and others;
2> Please follow the requirements in the instructions, to properly and reliably the earth wire.
The welding machine housing must be grounded.
6. Motive power
1> Use in a well-ventilated place and observe to protect from rain for outdoor use;
2> When the power is supplied from a generator, do not refuel near an open fire; do not refuel during
welding or at the start of the engine. Be sure to refuel after the engine is cooled down, otherwise the
evaporation of the fuel under thermal state during refuel will lead to danger;
3> When the power is supplied from a generator, do not pour the fuel outside the fuel tank when
refueling and the engine can be started only after the outside fuel is fully evaporated;
4> When the power is supplied from a generator, ensure that all safety devices, covers and equipment
are intact;
