Operating instructions (Figures 1 + 3, page 2)
Important: Do not immerse the air pump in water, protect it against flooding. Place the
pump on a firm surface and base.
-
Place the pump in an area that is protected against flooding.
-
Make sure that the pump draws clean and pure water.
-
Place the air pump on a flat level surface above the water level.
-
Secure the air pump to prevent it from walking.
-
Connect the rubber hose coupler to the pump outlet and secure it with the supplied
hose clamp.
-
Slide the other hose clamp over the rubber hose coupler.
-
Connect the air distributor to the other side of the rubber hose coupler and secure it
with the hose clamp.
Air stones can be connected to the air distributor with an air hose and check valve. Air
hose, check valve and air stones are sold separately. Provide adequate air flow, choose
air stones that can handle the pump capacity.
Plug the power cord in an electrical outlet to turn the air pump on.
Maintenance (Figures 1 + 3, page 2)
To ensure a long life span and problem-free operation, we recommend that you check the
pump regularly for air capacity reduction by checking whether the air stones are producing
enough air bubbles.
-
If the air capacity has decreased, check the air stones and replace, if necessary.
Clogged air stones will lead to low air pressure output in the pump and reduce the life
of the diaphragms and pump.
If replacement of the air stones does not improve the air capacity, check the air pump.
-
Turn off the air pump by unplugging the power cord from the electrical outlet.
-
Check the filter foam on top of the pump for grime by removing the plastic cap and
metal plate. Loosen the screws to remove the metal plate.
-
If the filter foam is dirty, take it out and blow out the dust that is trapped in it.
-
Put all parts back in.
Replacing the diaphragms
-
Remove the screws from the cap of the air pump and remove the top cap.
-
Remove the four screws from the black motor cap and remove the motor cap.
-
Remove the four screws from the diaphragm housing on either side of the motor.
-
Remove the nut from the diaphragm arm and replace the diaphragm.
-
Put all parts back in and tighten the screws.
In the winter
-
Protect the air pump from frost.
-
Do not allow the air pump to draw hot air, as this will cause condensation to form in
the air hose to the pond or filter and the hose may likely clog up or freeze in the
winter.
