Operating instructions:
The batteries come only partially charged and must be fully charged before the first use.
Only use original KaWe handles.
NiMH-rechargeable battery
With NiMH technology, a lazy battery effect can occur similar to the classic memory
effect of NiCd technology. The cause of this is the residual energy present in the battery
when the battery is recharged. This effect can be almost completely removed by
completely discharging the battery and then recharging it from time to time. If the
battery no longer provides enough energy to power your device, turn off the device
immediately and charge the battery. (Avoid a deep discharge of the rechargeable battery,
as this will destroy it.)

Please note that these batteries will self-discharge. If they are not needed for a longer
period of time (used and charged) they will self-discharge, lose capacity and can sustain
permanent damage. The manufacturer is not liable for such damage. The rechargeable
batteries should therefore be stored with a charge of no less than 50% if they are to be in
storage for longer than one month.
Always heed the given charging time, as overcharging will damage the battery. (KaWe
MedCharge® 3000 and 4000 charging stations are equipped with an integrated
automatic shut-off function.)
NiMH rechargeable batteries lose capacity at low temperatures (less than 0°C).
When not in use, charge the battery every 3 months.

Li-ion battery

The Li-ion battery can be recharged at any time without shortening the battery life.
Interrupting the charging process does not harm the battery.
A drastically shortened battery life after a full charge is a sign that the battery is depleted
in need of replacement. Only use original replacement battery packs.
When not in use, charge the battery every 3 months.
Disposal:
Disposal/recycling instructions are printed on the device itself as well as on the
packaging.
