All-wheel drive deactivation:
The all-wheel drive can be deactivated at any time by pressing the
4-wheel-drive button "4x4".
During the switching process, the control panel shows "4x4: shifting OFF".
As soon as the red control lamp next to the 4-wheel-drive button "4x4"
turns off and the display shows "4x4: "OFF", the process is complete and
the vehicle is in 4x2 mode.
ESP is automatically reactivated after turning off the all-wheel
drive. In order for the system to initialize as quickly as possible,
the speed should be less than 20 km/h and pronounced stee-
ring or braking should be avoided. As soon as the signal lamps
in the instrument cluster turn off, the brake control system is fully
available again.
If the all-wheel drive cannot be turned on or off, the switching
process can be sped up in the following ways:
• Provoke a load change (start driving, brake)
• Drive in a slight curve
• Stop, briefl y put in reverse and start driving, drive a slight
curve if necessary, then drive forward again.
Errors activating the all-wheel drive are shown on the display of
the control panel in the centre console.
