How to operate your RECARO seat
Please open out the drawings on Pages
3, 4 and 5 for reference when reading
the text.
Pages 27 and 28 describe how you can
make the optimum adjustment of your seat.
1. Headrest
(Expert and Specialist versions only)

The height (1a) and angle of the headrest
(1) can be adjusted.
Carefully pull or push the headrest (1) to
the desired height.
Removal of the headrest
Use both your thumbs to feel out the
release (1c) in the upholstery. Press both
releases (1c) simultaneously. The pressure
points (1c) are shown in the figure. Have
someone else then pull out the headrest (1)
from above.
Fitting the headrest
Insert the headrest (1) in the two recesses
(1b) on the backrest and press down until it
is heard to click into place.
Risk of injury
Approval of the seat relies on the
headrest being
protective function of the RECARO
seat is seriously impaired if the head-
rest is removed.
The headrest must always be in place
for this reason.
2. Tilting the backrest forward

The backrest can be released and tilted
forward. Pull the lever (2) on the left or right
of the backrest in an upward direction.
The backrest will engage in its original
position when you tilt it back again. Please
check that the backrest has been engaged
correctly each time after it has been
released.

You can adjust the side bolsters with the
small wheel (3) on the backrest.
Turn the wheel (3) forward to bring the side
bolsters closer together. To set them
further apart, turn the wheel (3) backwards.
4. Adjusting the backrest angle

You can move the backrest of your
RECARO seat to the desired position by
turning one of the two wheels (3). The
backrest can be adjusted to a reclined
position.
Electronic (optional)
You can move the backrest to the desired
position using the switch (4a). For a more
reclined backrest position: Press the switch
(4a) backward. The backrest can be
adjusted to a reclined position. For a more
upright backrest position: Press the switch
(4a) forward.
5. Adjusting the distance of the seat
from the pedals

There are two possibilities here, depending
on the vehicle type in question. Your
RECARO seat has been fitted with either a
RECARO adapter and the standard seat
rails or with a RECARO base frame and
RECARO seat rails.
Risk of pinching
Adjusting the length of the seat
changes the amount of space requir-
ed. Ensure that no-one reaches into
the area where adjustment is taking
place or puts their feet under the seat
or near the seat rails.
