1. Safety information
1. Please follow the maintenance instructions.
2. Please also read additional device technical
documentation (installation instructions, checklist).
3. Please ensure that all maintenance works are
carried out by authorized skilled personnel.
4. Please note that only original parts may be used for
maintenance.
5. Immediately rectify any malfunctions that may
influence safety.
CAUTION!
The water conditioning device must not be in
regeneration mode! The device must be
switched off prior to maintenance and
safeguarded against unauthorized switching-on
(system disconnection)! It is recommended to
carry out maintenance works in the following
order.
2. Necessary tools
•
Wrench 17, 19, and 22 (it is not possible to use dual
wrenches)
•
Slotted-head screwdriver
•
Sharp knife
3. Maintenance
Determine the device type
• Old model (fig. 1) with internal nozzle; please read 3.1
• New model (fig. 2) with external nozzle;please read 3.2

3.1 Upgrading adapter (old model)
1. Put appliance in „bypass" position
(see installation instructions).
2. Loosen brine hose.
3. Unscrew brass screw connection.
4. Remove nozzle.
5. Remove existing lens filter if applicable. Graphite
electrodes in the chlorine generator must be visible.
6. Turn screw connection in the chlorine generator.

7. Install adapter.

3.2 Exchanging adapter (new model)
1. Put appliance in „bypass" position
(see installation instructions).
2. Loosen brine hose.
3. Unscrew brass screw connection.
4. Exchange adapter.
KaltecCool: Magnesium adapter (Mg)
KaltecSoft: Sodium adapter (Na)
3.3 Exchanging brine hose, cleaning ball float
1. Uninstall brine hose (1) on the brine tube.
2. Remove bite ring (2) and collar (3) from brine hose.
CAUTION!
Keep bite ring and collar as they are necessary
to install the new brine hose.
3. Remove ball float unit by loosening the black nut on
the brine tube.
4. Rinse ball float unit thoroughly with water.

6. Check smooth engagement of ball in air seal (5).
The ball must move audibly when turning the ball
float unit.
7. Brine hose visual inspection. Remove existing
deposits if applicable.
8. Install ball float unit.
9. Fasten new brine hose with connecting parts.
Fasten kept bite ring (2) and collar (3) to the ball float
unit. Install filter, bite ring and collar on adapter
(see fig. 3).
3.4 Exchanging venturi tubes
1. Open venturi lid (6) by unscrewing both screws.
2. Unscrew venturi tube (7).

3. Unscrew venturi tube (8).
4. Firmly tighten new venturi tubes (7) and (8).
5. Exchange brine filter (9).
6. Exchange both O-rings (10) and (11).
7. Reinstall venturi lid (6).

3.5 Cabinet visual inspection
1. Visually inspect cabinet for contamination. Clean if
necessary.
3.6 Checking filling level
1. Check magnesium and sodium level. Refill if
necessary.
3.7 Recommissioning
1. Insert plug.
2. Set time with arrow keys
(see installation instructions).
3. Check pipe raw water hardness for total hardness
with measuring instruments.
4. Retrieve programmed value by pressing the P key
for 5 seconds and compare with measured value.
5. Change programmed value by pressing the arrow
keys if necessary.
6. Put appliance in „Service" position (see installation
instructions).
7. Adjust KaltecSoft blend to required value (see
installation instructions).
8. Trigger manual regeneration by pressing the
–key.
• In phase 1C, the brine must first be visibly
absorbed through the brine hose towards the
chlorine generator.
4. Checklist
Enter all performed maintenance works, remarks and
the next recommended maintenance date on the
checklist (see separate documents).
5. Maintenance intervals
Exchange chlorine generators and stainless steel
adapter every 3 years (spare part no. 0903879).
