2. Safety information

Please read these operating instructions carefully. Failure to observe the
information provided below can lead to personal injury or material damage.
Keep these instructions in a safe place where they can also be read by other
persons using the device. Always pass on these instructions together with the
appliance if you sell it or pass it on.
WARNING
Keep children away from the packaging materials. Risk of suffocation.
CAUTION
• Before use, make sure that the device and accessories do not show
any visible signs of damage. If you are in any doubt, do not use it and
contact your dealer or a specified customer service address.
• You can either use the device with batteries or with the supplied
adapter plug.
• Plug the power cable into a correctly installed mains outlet.
• Do not open the case under any circumstances.
• Please keep the device from pointed or sharp objects and sources of
heat.
• If the device has been dropped or otherwise damaged, it must not be
used again.
• Switch the device off and unplug it from the power supply after every
use and before every cleaning.
• UV lamps contain a low level of mercury. Therefore, do not crush or
break the lamp.
• UV light can be damaging to the human eyes and skin.
• During operation, do not look through the upper openings in the
device and avoid looking through the upper housing for extended
periods.
Electric shock
WARNING
As with every electrical device, use this cleaner and power supply unit
carefully and cautiously, in order to avoid hazards due to electric shock.
Therefore, operate the device either with the supplied adapter plug or
with 4 x AA batteries. Never use if the device or accessories show visible
signs of damage.
