7 - TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
1. Softener fails A. Electrical service to unit has been

CAUSE
A. Assure permanent electrical service
B. Replace the timer
C. Check the meter connection to the
D. Clean or replace the meter
E. Replace the drive motor
F. Check the programming and reset as needed
A. Close the by-pass valve
B. Add salt to the brine tank and maintain the salt
C. Replace or clean the injector and screen.
D. Check the brine tank fill time and clean
E. Repeated flushing of the hot water
F. Make sure the distributor tube is not cracked.
G. Replace seals and spacers and/or piston
H. Remove the obstruction from meter
I. Check the meter connection
J. Check the programming and reset as needed
A. Check salt usage and salt setting

C. Check the programming and reset as needed
A. Clean the line to the softener
B. Clean the valve and resin bed
C. Remove the piston and clean the valve
A. Add or replace the top distributor
