1. Carry out a visual inspection. Check:
if the device exists
that the detector is not polluted by paint, any cover or dust for example
if the smoke alarm device is in a correct condition (nothing broken off)
If there are any claims of the above, replace the smoke alarm device immediately.
2. Carry out a function test. Therefore press the LED conductor pole for about one
second. A warning beep sounds if the detector is operational.
3. Regarding to the DIN 14604 rule, replace all smoke alarm devices after 10 years
for new ones!
⑦ ⑦ ⑦ ⑦ Alarm muting
The alarm muting can be activated by pressing the test LED conductor pole of the de-
tector (1). The smoke alarm device will mute for approx. 10 minutes and then reset it-
self to the normal operation sensitivity level.
⑧ ⑧ ⑧ ⑧ Alarm Memory
If the smoke alarm device has entered a local alarm then when it exits the local alarm,
the alarm memory latch is set. This condition will remain for 24 hours. The LED will
flash 3x every 43 seconds. Press the "Alarm-Mute-Test-Button" (LED conductor pole
6.2) to reset the alarm memory latch.

⑨ ⑨ ⑨ ⑨ Battery change
1.
Detach the smoke alarm device by turning the detector counter clockwise.
2.
Connect the new battery to the smoke alarm device (watch the polarity) and
place it into the intended bracket of the detector.
3.
Place the detector back into the base and turn clockwise.
4.
Check if the LED conductor pole flashes.
5.
Carry out a function test. Press therefore the LED conductor pole for about one
second.
6.
A warning beep sounds if the smoke alarm device is operational. If no beep
sounds then the device is not functional. In this case check the battery and re-
place it. If still no beep sounds after pressing the test LED conductor pole again
then the smoke alarm device is defect and needs to be replaced.

With a wireless radio module 433 MHz (Order No. 32488) it is possible to transmit alarm
signals to a radio control panel (SRC 3000, Order No.: 32487). These radio modules are
simple to install and can be also be installed by hindsight. For further details see the
corresponding manual.

The house- and apartment owner is responsible for the installation and maintenance of
smoke alarm devices in a couple of states and provinces. A service must be done at least
once a year. Due to DIN 14676 the service contains a optical inspection, a function test
and if needed a battery change. A service must be done at least once a year and contains
an optical inspection and a function test due to the DIN 14676 rule. A function test must
be done after a longer absenteeism but latest within one year (see chapter 6).
