Please read instructions carefully before proceeding and keep them for future
reference on the inside of the control system door.
installation
• Installation must be carried out by a certified person in accordance with current
national regulations.
• This product must be connected directly to the mains supply in accordance with
national regulations. Ensure that the mains supply cannot be disconnected unin-
tentionally. It is recommended that disconnection is only possible using the mains
switch or a key switch. At least one of these means for disconnection must be
incorporated in the fixed wiring in accordance with national wiring requirements.
• The packaging can be disposed of with usual household waste.
safety
• The installer must instruct the owner in the function of the product including
resetting of alarms and position of data plates and instructions.
• The data plates are placed on the inside of the doors of the control system and the
break-glass point.
• This product should only be operated after due instruction.
• This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, un-
less they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product
by a person responsible for their safety.
• When resetting alarms, be sure not to touch conductive parts.
• When resetting alarms, make sure that no body parts can get caught in the win-
dow when reactivated.
Function
• The green light-emitting diode between the ventilation buttons is illuminated as
long as the window is open.
• The comfort ventilation function is automatically disengaged when the smoke
ventilation function is activated or in case of power failure.
• In case of power failure the windows if opened via the comfort ventilation function
are closed automatically two minutes after the power fails. This does not happen
when the smoke ventilation function is active.
• This product can operate up to two smoke ventilation windows simultaneously.
• When used for comfort ventilation, the window opens max 200 mm.
product
• This product has been designed for use with genuine VELUX products. Connection
to other products may cause damage or malfunction.
• This product is in conformity with the provisions of the Low Voltage Directive and
the EMC directive for use in household, trade and light industry.
• When installed, the control system complies with protection degree IP 20.
Maintenance and service
• Disconnect from mains supply and back-up batteries before carrying out any
maintenance or service work to the smoke ventilation system and ensure that they
cannot be reconnected unintentionally during this time.
• The smoke ventilation system must be tested after installation, service work and
alterations to the system. It must be inspected by qualified personnel at least once
a year. Tests and inspections must be documented in accordance with national
regulations.
• If the smoke ventilation system is equipped with VELUX wind deflector KFD, the
wind deflector must be inspected for damage and for loose screws and nuts.
• Electrical products and batteries must be disposed of in conformity with national
regulations for electronic waste and not with household waste.
