Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the LINDY Fibre Optic HDMI Extender. This product has been designed to
provide trouble free, reliable operation. It benefits from both a LINDY 2 year warranty and free lifetime
technical support. To ensure correct use, please read this manual carefully and retain it for future
reference.
The Fibre Optic HDMI Extender allows you to extend Full HD 1080p and even higher resolution signals up
to 4K2K including HDMI 3D formats up to:

300m or without HDCP 450m (No.38163) using OM3 multimode (50/125µm) LC Duplex fibre cable

700m or without HDCP 3000m (No.38063) using OS1 single mode (9/125µm) LC Duplex fibre cable
With an optional IR Extender Kit (LINDY No.38006) the extender can in addition receive IR signals on the
RX and transmit them on the TX unit.

Deep Colour capable: supports 30/36/48 bit colour depth depending on the resolution

Supports HDCP 1.4 and 2.2 pass through function

Supports EDID communication between source and sink

Maximum fibre cable length: 300m or if HDCP is not required 450m LC OM3 (No.38163), or 700m or
if HDCP is not required 3000m LC Single Mode (No.38063)

Maximum HDMI cable length up to 5m in and out

Supports CEC; ARC and HEC are not supported

Supports DVI signals using simple adapters or DVI-D/HDMI adapter cables

Supports DisplayPort signals up to 4K / 3840x2160@30Hz in many cases, using adapter
No.41068 (source) and No.38147 or adapter cable No.41485* (1m) (monitor) – * especially for 4K
resolutions and if reliable operation is important an extra power feed adapter No. 41080 must be
combined with adapter cable No.41485. (Please also regard the remark in section Troubleshooting.)
