1 Glossary

Customer code: The customer code is a unique and confidential code which has all
access rights. It is the only code which can create, modify or delete user codes, and
which can be used to carry out an operational test of the sensors, to read the events log,
to isolate a sensor and to access the tele-configuration mode.
3 "Service" codes: The control unit enables 3 service codes to be created. Depending
on the programming carried out during the installation, these codes either have the same
rights as the customer code or they can only disable the surveillance of a part of the
premises.
6 "Sector" codes: The control unit enables the premises to be divided into 2 sectors.
Each sector has 3 programmable codes. If the installation does not have any sectors,
these 6 codes have the same access rights as the customer code.
Installer code: Modifiable access code reserved for the installer, which provides access
to the central programming.
Log of actions: All operations carried out on the control unit are stored, with the date
and time, in the log of actions: activation or deactivation of surveillance with the user
code number that was used, 230 volt mains cut-off, alarm, visit by the installer, etc.
Entry time delay: Programmable time delay which enables the user to access the
control unit and deactivate the surveillance mode of the installation.
Exit time delay: Programmable time delay which enables the user to exit the premises
after activating the surveillance mode of the installation.
Sector surveillance: The control unit permanently monitors the presence of the 230 volt
mains. After a mains power cut in excess of 2 hours, it sends the information to the call
reception centre.
Back-up battery: The back-up battery maintains the control unit in operation in the case
of a mains power failure. When the battery reaches a low level, the control unit informs
the call centre and blocks the surveillance mode activation.
Cyclic test: Depending on the programming carried out, the control unit regularly
transmits a test call to the call centre. This call makes it possible to test the operation of
the control unit and of the telephone line. These calls are usually programmed during the
night.
Inhibition: It is possible to force the control unit into surveillance mode although a
sensor is alarm-activated. In this case, the sensor is temporarily inhibited but the event is
stored in the log.
Isolation: Following a sensor fault, the user has the possibility of isolating a detection
loop. The user must cancel the isolation for this loop to become active again.
Siren: The siren is triggered after 90 seconds in the case of an alarm (this period can be
adjusted by the installer). If the alarm is triggered due to an error, the user can stop the
siren by shutting down the system.
Self-protection: The control unit and the sensors are permanently monitored. An alarm
and a call are triggered in the case of an attempt to open or sabotage the control unit.
Transmitter: The control unit is equipped with a transmitter which provides the
telephone link to the call centre. If the control unit is shut down after an alarm has been
triggered, the transmission of the alarm is not interrupted.
