Connection to the mains supply

The hair dryer should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in
accordance with the regulations.
✦
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on
the rating label of the hair dryer.

This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.
Important safety instructions

Before using the appliance, the user should read the following instructions
carefully.

Caution: do not use the appliance near bath tubs, washbasins or any
other receptacle containing water.

Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not
operate it with wet hands.
✦
In the vicinity of any water source, there is a risk even when the appliance is
switched off . Therefore, always remove the plug from the wall socket after
use, especially if the appliance is being used in a bathroom.

Additional protection is available by fi tting an earth-leakage circuit-breaker
with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30mA into your bathroom
installation. Please consult a qualifi ed electrician.

Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch
any part of the appliance except the grip. Otherwise there is a real risk of
burning.

Do not use the appliance on synthetic hair-pieces or wigs, as the heat emitted
might cause damage to the synthetic fi bres.

Make sure the air intake and outlet openings are not blocked (e.g. by fi ngers
or hair), and that no fl uff or fi bre particles are allowed to accumulate in the
air intake. A blockage in the air-fl ow system may cause the integral thermal
safety cut-out to switch off the appliance. Should this occur, immediately
disconnect the appliance from the mains power and allow suffi cient time for
it to cool down before the blockage is removed and the appliance is switched
on again.

Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as
well as any attachment fi tted should be checked thoroughly for any defects.
Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it
must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse eff ects on
the operational safety of the appliance.
