IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Basic safety precautions are essential when using electrical appliances. These
include:
• Read all the instructions before use.
• Never touch hot surfaces. Use pot holders when removing the lid or handling hot
containers.
• Never immerse cord, plug or base unit (heating element) in water or any other
liquid as this could cause electrical shock.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. Unplug before
putting on or taking off parts and allow to cool before cleaning.
• Never operate any appliance with a damaged flex or plug, if the appliance is not
working properly or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to
the nearest authorized service agent for examination, repair or adjustment.
• The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer may cause
injury.
• Never use outdoors.
• Never let the flex hang over the edge of a table or counter or come into contact
with hot surfaces.
• Never place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot
liquids.
• Do not use the appliance for anything but the specified use.
• Do not use steel wool or any metallic scouring pad to clean the electrical pin
terminals on either the appliance or plug.
• To reduce the risk of electrical shock, cook only in the removable container. Do
not pour liquid into the outer pan.
