IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

It is essential to observe the following fundamental safety precautions to avoid fire,
electric shock, accidents and injury when using electrical appliances:
• Read through these instructions carefully.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• This appliance is only intended for domestic use.
• Never touch hot surfaces. Always grasp the appliance by the handles.
• Danger of electric shock: Never immerse the plug, mains lead, appliance or parts
of the appliance in water or any other liquid!
• Close supervision is essential when children use electrical appliances or if they
play near them.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains when not in use or before
cleaning. Always allow the appliance to cool down completely before mounting or
removing parts or before cleaning the appliance.
• Never use the appliance with a damaged mains lead or plug. Never use a
damaged appliance! Return any damaged or no longer perfectly functioning
appliance to the authorised dealer to be checked, repaired or reset.
• Using accessories that are not expressly recommended can cause accidents.
• Never use the appliance out of doors.
• Do not let the power lead hang down from the working surface or come into
contact with hot surfaces.
• Never place the appliance near a hot gas or electric stove or put it in a hot
oven.
• Never shift the coffee maker when the mugs contain hot liquids.
• Before connecting or disconnecting the appliance, turn all the controls to OFF.
• This appliance is fitted with a polarised plug. The appliance may only be plugged
into a polarised socket to prevent the risk of electric shock. If the plug does not
fit the socket, it must be replaced by a qualified electrician. Never try to change
the plug yourself!
• WARNING: Never remove the casing. In this way you will avoid the risk of fire or
electric shock. No user serviceable parts inside! Repairs may only be carried out
by an authorised service agent.
• Do not use cracked mugs or mugs with lose parts.
