Safety instructions: Read these carefully and follow
them to prevent personal injury.

Important Instructions
CAUTION – Danger of Injury!

The articles are not a toy. Do not leave children and animals
unsupervised with the articles, in order to avoid injuries!
■
Danger of Burns from Battery Acid! If a battery leaks, avoid
physical contact with the battery acid. Wear protective gloves
if necessary. If you touch battery acid, rinse the affected area
with abundant fresh water immediately and contact a doctor as
soon as possible.
■
The solar lights are attached to a roof gutter in order to illumi-
nate the area around the house. The storage batteries charge
during the daytime via the solar cell fi elds. The accumulated
energy allows the LEDs to illuminate at night.
■
The articles are designed for personal domestic use only and
are not intended for commercial applications.
■
The articles should only be used as described in these instruc-
tions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.
■
Protect the articles from naked fl ames and impact.
■
Never immerse the articles in water or other liquids. They are
only resistant to splashing.
■
During extreme weather conditions (e.g. storm, hail) or if the
articles will not be used for a long time, switch them off and
store them in a dry place.
■
Do not disassemble the articles (except for removing the sto-
rage battery prior to disposal of the solar unit)! Have any re-
pairs done only by a specialist workshop or the customer ser-
vice department. The LEDs cannot be replaced.
■
Storage batteries may not be disassembled, disposed of in
fi re, immersed in liquids or short circuited.
■
The solar lamps should not be placed near to other light sourc-
es such as street lamps or other lamps, so that the LEDs can
be switched on automatically.
■
Keep the solar fi elds clean so that the greatest possible ab-
sorption of light is ensured. Wipe down the solar fi elds (and if
necessary also the remaining components of the article) with a
damp cloth. Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning
agents to clean the article! They could damage the surfaces.

Putting Into Operation
1. Remove the protective wrapper from the solar fi eld, if present.
2. Pull out the protective strip next to the LEDs to activate the
battery.
3. Slide the On/Off switch to ON.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for the other solar lights.
The batteries of the solar units can now charge up in daylight.
The batteries have to be charged before the LEDs can light up.
To make sure that the batteries last for as long as possible, they
should be fully charged (around 6 - 8 hours).
When darkness sets in, the LEDs automatically switch on. When
it gets light, the LEDs switch off and the batteries are charged up
via the solar panels.

Disposal
The packaging material is recyclable. Dispose of the pack-
aging in an environmentally friendly manner and take it to a
recycling centre.
Dispose of the articles in an environmentally friendly man-
ner. They should not be disposed of in the normal house-
hold waste. Dispose of the articles at a recycling centre for
used electrical and electronic devices.
The batteries should be removed prior to disposal of the
articles and disposed of separately from the articles. To pro-
tect the environment, non-rechargeable and rechargeable
batteries may not be disposed of with normal household
waste, but must be taken to suitable collection points.
Removing the Batteries
1. Next to the LEDs there are two battery compartments. To open
them, push the locking catches, e.g. with a screwdriver, to the
battery compartment lids and take them off.
2. You can now remove the batteries.
