Initial operation
To switch off
• To switch off the mixer, turn the volume on the mixer and then the amplifier first of all to minimum.
• Switch off the amplifier.
• Next, switch off the mixer using the on/off switch (12) and then the playback devices (record player, CD player
etc.).
• If you do not require the mixer for a longer period, unplug the power supply unit from the socket.

b) Selecting the input

Reduce the volume to the minimum setting using the relevant channel fader (7) before actuating
an input selection switch (6). Due to the different levels of the output sources, sudden,
excessive volume could occur when switching between the inputs.
• Use the input selection switches (6) to select the desired inputs.
c) Volume control
• Adjust the volume of the connected amplifier to minimum.
• Turn the MASTER LEVEL control (11) and the GAIN control (1) to minimum.
• Slide the channel fader (7) to minimum.
• Use the input selection switches (6) to select the appropriate channel input.
• Start the connected reproduction device, e.g. a CD player. If this device has a volume control, set the volume to
about 75% of the maximum level.
• Slide the appropriate channel fader (7) right to the top.
• Turn the MASTER LEVEL control (11) to maximum.
• You can set the signal level using the GAIN control (1) of the respective channel. Mae sure that there is no
distortion using this setting.
• Now set the required maximum volume using the volume control on the amplifier. Avoid distortion.
• You can use the TREBLE/BASS sound controls (5) to alter the playback sound.
• Repeat the setting for all mixer channels. All channels should have about the same volume when cross-fading
between the channels so that there are no great differences in the volume which would otherwise require the
output signal to be adjusted.
• After you have made these settings, use only the MASTER LEVEL control (11) when you want to change the
playback volume.
