Picture 8
Adjust
the
wings-
, the elevator rudder and the
rudder. The wings must be
straight to achieve a stable
flight path. Every bend nega-
tively influences the flight
characteristics.
Picture 9
Add some machine oil to the
propeller shaft regularly.
This decreases the friction
and increases the propeller
capacity.
The model is ready for take-
off.
Stress the rubber band
motor (Pict. 10)
Before starting the propeller,
the rubber band must be
tightened by turning approx.
140 - 180 times clockwise.
Never overwind the rubber, it
might break.
Hold the propeller and throw
the model as shown against
the wind direction.
Test flight (Pict. 11/12)
The test flight is made easier by starting the model in to the wind.
In picture 11 the various horizontal flight characteristics are shown.
( a ) The model flies a right hand bend. This can be adjusted by changing the vertical rudder.
Push the vertical rudder slightly to the left, to counteract flight to the right.
( b ) The model flies a left hand bend. This can be adjusted by changing the vertical rudder. Push
the rudder slightly to the right, to counteract flight to the left.
( c ) The model flies neutrally straight forward.
In picture 12 the various vertical flight characteristics are shown.
( a ) The model flies upwards and falls downwards rapidly. This can be adjusted by changing the
elevator. Push the elevator slightly down, to counteract climbing flight.
( b ) The model ducks away. This can be adjusted by changing the elevator. Push the elevator
slightly upwards, to counteract diving flight.
( c ) The model flies neutrally straight forward.
Adjusting the flight direction
With this model the direction of flight can be adjusted vertically and horizontally by bending the
elevator rudder or the vertical rudder.
