Illustration 8
Secure the wings from the
bottom
with
adhesive
strips 6 and 7.
Illustration 9
Hook the wing supports to the fuselage and the wings on each side.
Adjustment
Adjust the wings, the ele-
vator tail and the vertical
tail. The wings must be
straight to achieve a stable
flight path. Every bend
negatively influences the
flight characteristics.
Now the model is ready for
take-off.
Winding up the rubber
band motor
Before the start, the rub-
ber band must be wound
up by turning the propeller
clockwise
about
200
times.
Do not over wind the rubber
band, it could break.
Launching the model
aeroplane
Hold the propeller and
throw the model into the
wind as illustrated.
The model should only be
used on large open areas
without any hazardous
obstacles.
Trimming in the Flight
The test flight is made easier by starting the model into the wind.
In the following illustration the various horizontal flight characteristics are shown.
( a ) The model flies a right hand bend. This can be adjusted on the vertical rudder. Push the ver-
tical rudder slightly to the left, to counteract flight to the right.
( a ) The model flies a left hand bend. This can be adjusted on the vertical rudder. Push the rudder
slightly to the right, to counteract flight to the left.
Now the model should be flying straight forwards. Ideal flight characteristics.
In the following illustration the various vertical flight characteristics are shown.
( c ) The model flies upwards and falls downwards rapidly. This can be adjusted by changing the
elevator. Push the elevator slightly down, to counteract climbing flight.
( d ) Model dives downwards. This can be adjusted by changing the elevator. Bend the elevator
a little upwards, to counteract the diving flight.
Now the model should be flying straight forwards. Ideal flight characteristics.
Setting the flight direction
On this model you can determine the flight direction by bending the elevator and the vertical rudder.
Furthermore, the ailerons on the wings can be adjusted. This increases the declination.
