Remote Control Range Extender
Item no. 94 36 24
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
This product is intended to increase the range of an IR remote control.
The product consists of a radio transmitter which receives the IR light impulses of your IR remote
control and converts them to a digital radio signal, and a radio receiver which re-converts this
radio signal to an IR transmission signal for the device to be controlled.
Due to the radio signal, a direct line of sight between your IR remote control and the device to
be controlled is no longer necessary.
The radio transmitter and radio receiver are powered via the wall plug transformer provided for
each of them.
This product complies with the applicable National and European regulations. All names of

Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions. We do not assume any liability for any consequential
damage!
We do not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
improper handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such
cases the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible
because of safety and approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. It should be
operated out of the reach of children.
• The design of the wall plug transformers complies with protection class II. As for the
voltage source for the mains transformers, only a proper power socket connected
to the public grid may be used.
• Only use the wall plug transformers enclosed to operate the product.
• The product is only intended for use in dry, indoor locations.
The wall plug transformers must not get damp or wet! There is a risk of a lethal
electric shock!
• When the product is taken from a cold to a warm room (e.g., during transport),
condensation may be produced. This could damage the product. With the wall plug
transformers there is also the deadly peril of an electric shock!
Wait until the product has reached room temperature before using it. This may take
several hours.
• Make sure that the connection cables of the wall plug transformers are not pinched
or damaged by sharp edges.
• Always check the device from time to time for damage. Do not touch the wall plug
transformers, the radio transmitter or the radio receiver if they show visible damage.
First of all switch off the mains socket to which the product is connected (e.g. switch
off automatic fuse) and then pull the wall plug transformer carefully out of the mains
socket. Do not use the product afterwards; instead, take it to a specialist workshop.
• Never position containers containing liquids, such as glasses, buckets, vases or
plants, in the direct vicinity of the product. Liquid could get inside the housing and
impair electrical safety. With the wall plug transformers there is also a great risk of
fire or a fatal electric shock!
In such an event, isolate the mains socket, to which the product is connected (e.g.
switch off the automatic fuse), and then unplug the wall-plug transformer from the
mains socket. Afterwards, the product can no longer be used; take it to a specialist
workshop.
• The product should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight,
intense vibrations or heavy mechanical stresses.

Putting the radio transmitter into operation („Transmitter")
The IR receiver is integrated in the radio transmitter (labelled with „Transmitter"). Therefore, it
must be operated close to your IR remote control.
The outlet opening of the IR signal on your IR remote control must be pointed towards the front
of the radio transmitter. Depending on your IR remote control, the distance should not be more
than 8 m. In order to avoid any signal reflexion, a minimum distance of 0.4 m must be kept
between the IR remote control and the radio transmitter.
Connect the round low voltage plug of one of the two wall plug transformers (same design),
included in delivery, to the corresponding socket on the back of the radio transmitter.
Plug the wall plug transformer into a mains socket.
Put the aerial on the back of the radio transmitter in an upright position. Fully pull out the
telescopic aerial.
Put the aerial on the back of the radio transmitter in an upright position. Fully pull out the
telescopic aerial.
Putting the radio receiver into operation („Receiver")
The IR transmitter is integrated in the radio receiver (labelled with „Receiver"). Therefore, it must
be operated close to the device to be controlled.
You can operate the radio receiver with or without the IR extender included in the delivery:
a) Without IR extender
Align the front of the radio receiver with the front of the device to be controlled. The distance
should not be more than 6 m. In order to avoid signal reflexions, a minimum distance of 0.3 m
must be kept between radio receiver and device.
Please observe the operating instructions for your device (e.g. DVD player, stereo
equipment and so on) into which the IR receiver is installed. In most cases, it can be
found near the display.
