Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Anschluss an einen USB-Port eines PC-kompatiblen Computer
vorgesehen. Dort kann es als zusätzliche Zahlentastatur verwendet werden.
Ausserdem stellt es zwei weitere USB-Ports zur Verfügung.

Anschluss
Verbinden Sie den USB-Stecker des Keypads mit einem USB-Port Ihres
PCs/Notebooks (oder dem USB-Port eines anderen USB-Hubs mit eigener
Stromversorgung). Der PC/Notebook braucht dabei nicht ausgeschaltet werden (gilt
nur speziell bei USB-Geräten!).
Treiber-Installation
Zum Betrieb ist mindestens Windows 98 nötig.
Windows erkennt das Gerät automatisch. Folgen Sie allen Anweisungen von
Windows. Die nötigen Treiber-Dateien sind in Windows enthalten, deshalb liegt kei-
ne Treiberdiskette oder -CD bei.
Eventuell ist danach noch ein Neustart nötig.
Tipps & Hinweise
• An die zwei USB-Ports des Keypads dürfen nur Geräte angeschlossen werden,
die je nur maximal einen Strom von 100mA benötigen (sog. "Low-Power-USB-
Geräte"), da der der USB-Hub im Keypad nicht über ein eigenes Netzteil verfügt.
High-Power-USB-Geräte mit einem Strombedarf von mehr als 100mA funktio-
nieren am USB-Hub des Keypads nicht.
• USB-Geräte erlauben das Ein- und Ausstecken während dem Betrieb. Sie brau-
chen also nicht Ihren PC ausschalten, wenn Sie Geräte ein- oder ausstecken
wollen (bei anderen Schnittstellen kann dies zu Beschädigungen führen, z.B.
wenn Sie eine PS/2-Maus während dem Betrieb ein- oder ausstecken).
Finden jedoch Datenübertragungen auf dem USB-Port statt, z.B. beim Scannen
über einen USB-Scanner, der über einen USB-Port des Keypads betrieben wird,
und Sie ziehen den USB-Stecker heraus, könnte das Anwendungsprogramm
abstürzen und evtl. auch andere Daten beschädigt werden!
• Im abgesicherten Modus von Windows ist kein USB-Betrieb möglich.
USB-Tastaturen und USB-Mäuse funktionieren deshalb normalerweise nicht
(evtl. bietet das BIOS Ihres Motherboards USB-Unterstützung für eine USB-
Tastatur/-Maus).
• Die "NumLock"-Taste auf dem Keypad gilt nur für das Keypad.
Das bedeutet, dass die "NumLock"-Funktion Ihrer "normalen" PC- oder
Notebook-Tastatur nicht aktiviert wird. Die LED auf dem Keypad leuchtet bei
aktivierter NumLock-Funktion.

Prescribed Use
The product is intended for connection to a USB port of a PC-compatible computer.
There it can be used as additional numeric keypad. Moreover it provides two further
USB ports.

Connection
Connect the USB connector of the keypad to a USB port of your PC/notebook (or the
USB port of another USB hub with own power supply). The PC/notebook needs not
to be turned off hereby (only applicable to USB devices in particular!)
Driver Installation
For operation at least Windows 98 is necessary.
Windows recognises the device automatically. Follow all instructions by Windows.
The necessary driver files are included in Windows. Therefore no driver floppy disk
or CD is supplied.
Possibly rebooting becomes necessary afterwards.
Tips & Notes
• Since the USB hub in the keypad is not supplied with its own power unit, only
devices may be connected to the two USB ports of the keypad that consume a
maximum current of 100mA each (so called "low-power USB devices"). High-
power USB devices with a power consumption of more than 100mA do not work
at the USB hub of the keypad.
• USB devices may be connected or disconnected during operation. Therefore you
need not turn off your PC when connecting or disconnecting devices (with other
interfaces this may lead to damage, e.g. when connecting or disconnecting a PS/2
mouse during operation).
If, however, data transmission takes place on the USB port, e.g. when scanning
with a USB scanner that is operated via a USB port of the keypad, at the moment
when you disconnect the USB connector the application program might crash and
other data might be damaged as well!
• In Windows secured mode no USB operation is possible.
USB keypads and USB mice therefore normally do not work (maybe the BIOS of
your motherboard provides USB support for a USB keypad/mouse). E
• The "NumLock" key on the keypad only applies to the keypad.
This means that the "NumLock" function of your "usual" PC or notebook keyboard
is not activated. The LED on the keypad flashes if the "Numlock" function is acti-
vated.
