Operation

The product can be operated via batteries or a power adapter.
a) Installing batteries
• Make sure the press-to-talk button (6) is not pressed down or locked.
• Lift the locking clip (3) to open the battery compartment cover (4).
• Take out the two transparent casings.
• Insert 4 batteries (type C) into both casings, heeding correct polarity. Observe the
polarity markings on the casings.
• Insert both casings into the battery compartment, heeding correct polarity. Observe
the polarity markings in the battery compartment.
• Close the battery compartment cover and secure it with the locking clip.
Use non-rechargeable batteries only. The product does not work with
rechargeable batteries.
Replace batteries when the volume decreases significantly.
b) Using a power adapter
• The power adapter must have the following features:
- Output voltage: 12 V/DC
- Output current: 3 A
- DC plug Ø: exterior 5.5 mm, interior 2.5 mm
- Polarity: inlying positive terminal (+), outlying negative terminal (-)
• Connect the DC plug to the power socket (2).
• Connect the power adapter to a suitable outlet.
c) Using the megaphone
Never operate the megaphone near the ear of another person. This poses a
risk of hearing damage. Keep sufficient distance from people when using
the product.
• The megaphone can be placed on a stable horizontal surface, carried by holding the
handle (1) or by wearing the shoulder strap (already fastened to the megaphone), or
mounted to a suitable tripod.
• Set the volume control (8) to the lowest level before using the microphone (7).
• Press and hold the press-to-talk button (6) to switch on the microphone. Speak into
the microphone and slowly adjust the volume to a proper level.
• Slide the press-to-talk button in the arrow direction to lock the button. Then the
microphone remains switched on.
• If there is acoustic feedback during use, decrease the volume or try pointing the
product in another direction.
• You may mount the microphone on the microphone holder (5).
d) Tripod thread
• You may mount the product on a suitable tripod (not included).
• The tripod thread (9) has a diameter of 10 mm.

Maintenance and cleaning

• If the product is connected to a power adapter, disconnect it before cleaning.
• The product does not require maintenance except occasional cleaning and battery
replacement.
• To clean the product, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient. You can use a long-
haired, soft and clean brush to remove dust.
• Never use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as they may cause
damage to the housing or the product to malfunction.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the
relevant statutory regulations.
Remove any inserted batteries and dispose of them separately from the
product.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labelled with this symbol to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations
for the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead
(name on (rechargeable) batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your
municipality, our stores or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the
environment.
