Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt besteht aus zwei Bestandteilen:
• 5.25"-Einschub mit Display und IR-Empfänger: Es muss in einen 5.25"-Einbauschacht eines Computer-
gehäuses eingebaut und richtig angeschlossen werden. Die Steuerung erfolgt über USB.
• IR-Fernbedienung: Sie dient zur Steuerung der mitgelieferten Multimedia-Software.
Alle enthaltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen
Inhaber. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Batterie-/Akkuhinweise
• Batterien/Akkus gehören nicht in Kinderhände.
• Achten Sie beim Einlegen der Batterien/Akkus auf die richtige Polung (Plus/+ und Minus/- beachten).
• Lassen Sie Batterien/Akkus nicht offen herumliegen, es besteht die Gefahr, dass diese von Kindern oder
Haustieren verschluckt werden. Suchen Sie im Falle eines Verschluckens sofort einen Arzt auf.
• Ausgelaufene oder beschädigte Batterien/Akkus können bei Berührung mit der Haut Verätzungen
verursachen, benutzen Sie deshalb in diesem Fall geeignete Schutzhandschuhe.
• Batterien/Akkus dürfen nicht kurzgeschlossen, zerlegt oder ins Feuer geworfen werden. Es besteht
Explosionsgefahr!
• Herkömmliche Batterien dürfen nicht aufgeladen werden, Explosionsgefahr!
• Mischen Sie niemals Batterien und Akkus, mischen Sie nicht Batterien/Akkus mit unterschiedlichem
Zustand (z.B. volle und halbvolle Batterien). Verwenden Sie immer zwei Batterien/Akkus des gleichen
Typs/Herstellers.
Software-Installation
Installieren Sie zuerst die mitgelieferte Software, bevor Sie den Einbau vornehmen.
• Schalten Sie Ihren Computer ein und warten Sie, bis das Betriebssystem vollständig geladen ist.
• Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD in das entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein. Sollte das
Installationsprogramm nicht automatisch starten, so starten Sie das Programm „iMONSetup.exe" im
Hauptverzeichnis der CD.
Folgen Sie allen Anweisungen.

Im Laufe der Installation müssen Sie den Typ der IR-Fernbedienung, den Sie besitzen,
festlegen. Wählen Sie das entsprechende Modell aus, sonst funktioniert später die Steue-
rung der Software über die Fernbedienung nicht bzw. nicht richtig.
• Ist die Installation abgeschlossen, beenden Sie das Betriebssystem und schalten Sie den Computer aus.
Einbau
Falls Sie keine Fachkenntnisse für den Einbau besitzen, so lassen Sie den Einbau von einer
FACHKRAFT oder einer entsprechenden Fachwerkstatt durchführen!
Durch unsachgemäßen Einbau wird sowohl das Produkt als auch Ihr Computer und alle
angeschlossenen Geräte beschädigt.
Vorsicht, Lebensgefahr!
Schalten Sie den Computer, in den das Produkt eingebaut werden soll und alle angeschlos-
senen Geräte aus und trennen Sie alle Geräte von der Netzspannung, ziehen Sie den
Netzstecker! Das Ausschalten über den Ein-/Ausschalter genügt nicht!
• Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und nehmen Sie den Gehäusedeckel vorsichtig ab.
• Ziehen Sie den breiten 20- bzw. 24poligen ATX-Stromstecker vom Mainboard ab (vorher Verriegelungs-
haken lösen).
• Platzieren Sie zwischen ATX-Stromanschluss auf dem Mainboard und dem ATX-Stecker des Netzteils
das mitgelieferte ATX-Adapterkabel. Falls Sie noch einen 20poligen ATX-Stromanschluss auf Ihrem
Mainboard haben, kann ein kleiner 4poliger Teil vom ATX-Adapterkabel abgetrennt werden.
Wenden Sie beim Zusammenstecken keine Gewalt an.
• Suchen Sie einen freien 5.25"-Einbauschacht und entfernen Sie die zugehörige Frontblende.
Dahinter liegt möglicherweise eine Metallabschirmung, die entfernt werden muss. Bei manchen Gehäu-
sen kann diese abgeschraubt werden, bei manchen ist sie vorsichtig herauszubrechen.
Je nach Gehäuse ist dazu vorher die komplette Frontblende des Gehäuses abzunehmen.
• Führen Sie das dünne dreipolige Kabel vom ATX-Adapterkabel durch die 5.25"-Öffnung und verbinden
Sie es mit dem Anschluss „CN1" auf der Platine des 5.25"-Einschubs.
• Ziehen Sie das zweipolige Kabel des Power-Tasters Ihres Gehäuses vom Mainboard ab. Der Stecker ist
meist mit „Power", „PW-ON", „PWR SW" o.ä. bezeichnet. Verbinden Sie den Stecker mit dem Anschluss
„CN3" (= „PWR SW") auf dem 5.25"-Einschub. Die Polarität ist dabei belanglos.

• Verbinden Sie den Anschluss „CN2" (= „M/B PWR") über dessen Anschlusskabel mit dem Anschluss des
Mainboards, an dem Sie vorher das Kabel zum Power-Taster abgesteckt haben.

Der 5.25"-Einschub wird also zwischen dem Power-Taster und dem entsprechenden
Anschluss auf dem Mainboard eingefügt. Das hat den Sinn, dass später der Computer über
die Fernbedienung ein- bzw. ausgeschaltet werden kann.
• Schieben Sie nun den 5.25"-Einschub in das Computergehäuse (Kabel vorsichtig nachschieben) und
schrauben Sie ihn fest.
• Verbinden Sie das USB-Kabel entweder mit einem internen USB-Anschluss Ihres Computers oder einem
herkömmlichen USB-Port. Ein passender Adapter liegt bei.
Bei Anschluss an einen internen USB-Port ist auf die richtige Belegung zu achten, andernfalls wird das
Mainboard und die Elektronik auf dem 5.25"-Einschub beschädigt (Bedienungsanleitung zum Mainboard
beachten (USB-Signale: VCC/+5V= , D-, D+, GND).
Die VCC/+5V-Leitung verwendet ein rotes Kabel, die GND-Leitung ein schwarzes Kabel.
• Verlegen Sie die Kabel so, dass sie nicht in einen Lüfter des Computers gelangen können, verwenden
Sie zur Fixierung z.B. Kabelbinder.
• Verschließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers.
• Verbinden Sie Ihren Computer und Monitor mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie alle Geräte ein.
• Startet Ihr Computer nicht korrekt, so schalten Sie ihn sofort wieder aus und kontrollieren Sie sämtliche
Einstellungen und Kabelverbindungen.
Vor dem erneuten Öffnen des Computers ist dieser von der Netzspannung zu trennen,
siehe oben! Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker!
Batterien in die IR-Fernbedienung einlegen, Batteriewechsel
• Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach auf der Unterseite der IR-Fernbedienung.
• Legen Sie zwei Batterien vom Typ AAA/Micro polungsrichtig in das Batteriefach ein (Polarität Plus/+ und
Minus/- beachten).
• Schließen Sie das Batteriefach wieder.
• Selbstverständlich können auch zwei Akkus verwendet werden. Durch die geringere Spannung von
Akkus (Batterie = 1.5V, Akku = 1.2V) kann es jedoch zu einer geringeren Betriebsdauer kommen.
• Ein Batterie- bzw. Akkuwechsel ist erforderlich, wenn die Reichweite der IR-Fernbedienung stark
abnimmt oder die Software keine Reaktionen mehr auf die Tastenbetätigung an der IR-Fernbedienung
zeigt (direkte Sichtverbindung zwischen der rötlichen Frontseite der IR-Fernbedienung und dem IR-
Empfänger erforderlich, Reichweite bis zu 10m).
Bedienung
• Die Steuerung der Multimedia-Software über die Fernbedienung ist nur dann möglich, wenn das
Betriebssystem (Windows XP oder höher empfohlen) und auch die Software komplett geladen wurde.
Andernfalls erfolgt keine Auswertung der IR-Befehle bzw. des Steuerrads von auf dem 5.25"-Einschub.
Auch erscheinen keine Anzeigen auf dem integrierten Display.
Unter DOS, im abgesicherten Modus von Windows oder unter alternativen Betriebssystemen steht das
Produkt nicht zur Verfügung.
• Die Software bietet umfangreiche Möglichkeiten der Verwaltung der Multimedia-Dateien auf Ihrem
Computer bzw. der Steuerung des Betriebssystems (z.B. Steuerung des Computers vom Sofa aus usw.).
Durch meist große Schriften oder Symbole ist die Bedienung besonders aus größeren Entfernungen sehr
leicht möglich.
• Aktivieren Sie die Software durch einen Druck auf die große blaue Taste etwa in der Mitte der
mitgelieferten IR-Fernbedienung.
Entsorgung
a) Batterien und Akkus
Sie als Endverbraucher sind gesetzlich (Batterieverordnung) zur Rückgabe aller gebrauchten Batterien und
Akkus verpflichtet; eine Entsorgung über den Hausmüll ist untersagt!
Schadstoffhaltige Batterien/Akkus sind mit nebenstehenden Symbolen gekennzeichnet, die

auf das Verbot der Entsorgung über den Hausmüll hinweisen. Die Bezeichnungen für das
ausschlaggebende Schwermetall sind: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Quecksilber, Pb=Blei (Bezeich-
nung steht auf der Batterie/Akku z.B. unter den links abgebildeten Mülltonnen-Symbolen).

Ihre verbrauchten Batterien/Akkus können Sie unentgeltlich bei den Sammelstellen Ihrer
Gemeinde, unseren Filialen oder überall dort abgeben, wo Batterien/Akkus verkauft werden!
Sie erfüllen damit die gesetzlichen Verpflichtungen und leisten Ihren Beitrag zum Umweltschutz.
b) Produkt
 Elektronische Geräte sind Wertstoffe und dürfen nicht in den Hausmüll!
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzlichen
Bestimmungen.

Prescribed use
The product consists of two components:
• 5.25" plug-in unit with display and IR receiver: the product must be installed in a 5.25" computer slot and
must be correctly connected. The control is effected via USB.
• IR remote control: it is designed for controlling the multimedia software included in the delivery.

Notes on Batteries/Storage Batteries
• Keep batteries/storage batteries out of reach of children.
• Please observe correct polarity (positive/+ and negative/-) when inserting the accumulators/batteries.
• Do not let batteries/rechargeable batteries lie around openly. There is a risk of batteries being swallowed
by children or pets. In such a case, seek immediate medical care.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries might cause acid burns when getting into contact
with skin. Therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Batteries/ rechargeable batteries must never be short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into fire. They might
explode!
• Conventional batteries must not be recharged. Risk of explosion!
• Never mix batteries and rechargeable batteries, don't mix batteries/rechargeable batteries of different
state (e.g. full with half full batteries). Always use two batteries / rechargeable batteries of the same type
and manufacturer.
Software installation
Install the software included in the delivery first, then carry out the installation.
• Switch your computer on and wait until the operating system is completely booted.
• Place the CD included in delivery in the corresponding drive of your computer. If the installation program
does not appear automatically, start the program "iMONSetup.exe" in the main directory of the CD.
Follow all instructions.

During installation, you must define the type of your IR remote control. Select the correspond-
ing model, as otherwise the control of the software will not function at all or not properly via
the remote control.
• When the installation is completed, exit the operating system and switch the computer off.
Installation
When in doubt about how to install the device correctly, please contact an EXPERT or a
specialist workshop and let them carry out the installation!
In case of improper installation, the product as well as your computer and all connected
devices will be damaged.
Lethal Danger!
Switch off the computer in which the product is to be installed and all connected devices and
separate all devices from the mains voltage. Unplug the mains plug! To switch the device off
via the ON/OFF switch is not enough!
• Open the housing of your computer and carefully take off the lid of the housing.
• Disconnect the wide 20 or 24-pin ATX mains plug from the mainboard (loosen the locking hooks first).
• Place the ATX adapter cable included in the delivery between the ATX power supply terminal on the
mainboard and the ATX plug of the power supply unit. If you still have a 20-pin ATX power supply terminal
on the mainboard, a small 4-pin part from the ATX adapter cable can be separated.
Do not use any force when plugging it in!
• Look for a free 5.25" installation slot and remove the respective front cover.
There may be a metal shield behind it which needs to be removed. For some housings it can be screwed
off, for some it has to be carefully broken out.
Depending on the housing the complete front cover of the housing has to be removed beforehand.
• Guide the thin 3-pin cable of the ATX adapter cable through the 5.25" opening and connect it with the
connection "CN1" on the circuit board of the 5.25" plug-in unit.

• Remove the 2-pin cable of the power push-button of your casing from the mainboard. The plug is generally
w w w. c o n r a d . c o m marked "Power", "PW ON", "PWR SW". Connect the plug with the connection "CN3" (="PWR SW") on the
5.35" plug-in unit. Here, the polarity is irrelevant.
• Connect the connection "CN2" (="M/B PWR") via its connecting cable with the connection of the

mainboard from which you previously removed the cable of the Power push-button.


The 5.25" plug-in unit is fitted between the Power push-button and the corresponding
connection on the mainboard. This serves the purpose of allowing the computer to be
switched on and off via the remote control.
• Slide the 5.25" plug-in unit into the computer housing and screw it tightly (slide the cable carefully).
• Connect the USB cable either with an internal USB connection of your computer or with a conventional
USB port. An appropriate adapter is also included.
When connecting to an internal USB port, observe the correct assignment, as otherwise mainboard and
electronics on the 5.25" plug-in unit will be damaged (observe the operating manual of the mainboard (USB
signals: VCC/+5V=, D-, D+, GND).
The VCC/+5V line uses a red cable, the GND line uses a black cable. .
• Lay the cables in a way so that they cannot get into a fan of the PC, to fasten them use, e.g. cable
fasteners.
• Close the computer case.
• Connect your computer and monitor with the mains voltage und switch on all devices.
• If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off immediately and check all settings and cable
connections.
Before you open the computer again, it needs to be separated from the mains voltage,
see above! Pull the mains plug!
Inserting Battery into the IR Remote Control, Change of Battery
• Open the battery compartment on the rear side of the IR remote control.
• Insert two size AAA batteries with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-) into the battery
compartment.
• Close the battery compartment.
• Naturally, two rechargeable batteries can be used also. Due to the lower voltage of rechargeable batteries
(batteries = 1.5V, rechargeable batteries = 1.2V), the operating time can be shorter.
• It is necessary to replace the batteries or the rechargeable batteries if the range of the IR remote control
is reduced considerably or if the software does not react to the commands of the IR remote control any
more (direct visual contact between the red front side of the IR remote control and the IR receiver is
necessary, range up to 10m).
Operation
• Controlling the multimedia software via the remote control is possible only if the operating system
(Windows XP or higher is recommended) and also if the software has been completely downloaded.
Otherwise, no evaluation of the IR remote control or the control wheel is effected on the 5.25" plug-in unit.
Also, no indication is displayed on the integrated display.
Under DOS, in the protected mode of Windows or under alternative operating systems, the product is
not available.
• The software offers several possibilities of managing multimedia files on your computer, or controlling the
operating system (e.g. controlling the computer from the couch etc.).
Due to big characters or symbols, operation is simple particularly from bigger distances.
• Activate the software by pressing on the big blue button placed approximately in the center of the IR remote
control included in the delivery.
Disposal
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
The user is legally obliged (battery regulation) to return used batteries and storage batteries. Do not dispose
of used batteries via the household rubbish.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the follow-

ing symbols which point out that they are not allowed to be disposed of in the domestic refuse.
The markings for hazardous heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (name
on battery/rechargeable battery, e.g. under the rubbish bin icons on the left).

You can return your exhausted batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge to any
authorized disposal station in your area, in our stores or in any other store where batteries/
rechargeable batteries are sold.
Thus, you comply with your legal obligations and make your contribution to environmental protection.
b) Product
Electronic devices are potential recyclable and must not be disposed of in the domestic waste.

At the end of its serviceable life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory
requirements.
