Confi guration
The network graphics card has an integrated web server that can be used to set the IP address
manually for example.
To perform the confi guration, it is essential to ensure that the network graphics card
is not being used by a computer. Thus, disconnect any existing monitor connection
in the software "Networking USB Server".
After disconnecting any existing connection, click on
the upper row in the software (see arrow on the right
of the picture). Afterwards, click on the button on the
bottom right to open the confi guration window in
your web browser.
Here, you can also perform different settings, e.g. the
IP address can be set to a fi xed value, if this is required for your network.
Confi guring the Monitors
To change the allocations of the monitors, you can edit the Windows graphic settings (e.g. click
on an unused area of the desktop with the right mouse button and select "Properties").
For example, the location of the second monitor can be changed (whether it is allocated to the
left or the right of the fi rst monitor), or you can adjust the desired resolution. The function is
exactly the same as if a graphic card with multiple outputs were integrated into your PC.
Tips and Notes
a) In general
• Please consult the manufacturer's English instruction manual on the CD. It is in "PDF" format.
To read the manual (PDF), you need Acrobat Reader, which you can download free of charge
from www.adobe.com.
• Only one computer at a time can be connected with the monitor on the network graphic card.
If the image displayed on the monitor shall be that of another PC, fi rst cut off the existing
connection.
• Any device can be connected to the USB ports on the network network graphics card.
However, functional restrictions may occur depending on the USB device and its function
or driver, e.g. a webcam might not function or the ink level of a USB printer is not displayed
correctly, etc. Due to the multitude of USB devices, it can not be guaranteed that each USB
device will work properly with the USB ports on the network graphics card!
b) Monitor output
• Since the image content is transferred via the network, there may be delays in the display if
the image content changes quickly. This occurs mainly when very high resolutions are set or
when many data is transmitted over the network (e.g. copy fi les, downloads etc.).
• The external network graphics card cannot be used for games, as it is not suitable for 3D
operation. The playback of videos is only possible to a limited extent. Here, blackouts / fl icker-
ing may occur, depending on the resolution and the network speed.
c) Network operation
• If you are not using a DHCP-Server (e.g. integrated in all DSL-routers), you should assign a
fi xed IP address to each PC and also to the network graphics card.
Set the fi rst computer to 192.168.1.1 for example, the second to 192.168.1.2 and the network
graphics card to 192.168.1.3. The fi rst three digits must be the same on all devices; the last
digit can range from 1 to 254.
The "subnet mask" has to be set to 255.255.255.0 for all the computers in the network.
Please keep in mind that an IP address (such as 192.168.1.1) can only be used once in the
network. When you set your router to the fi xed IP address 192.168.1.1 for example, no other
device in the network can use this IP address!
d) Sound card
After Windows has recognised the existing USB sound card in the network graphics card, it is
used as a standard sound card.
If you want to use the sound card in your computer, you must change the audio settings in the
Windows Control Panel.
e) Reset
Resetting the network graphics card is only possible if no computer is connected to the net-
work graphics card. Press the "Reset" key. Alternatively, you can briefl y disconnect the network
graphics card from the power supply.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any
reason.
Disconnect the product from the mains supply before cleaning.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as these can cause discolouration.
Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch marks.
Handling
• Only use in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! With the
wall plug transformers there is also the deadly peril of an electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to
a warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy your unit. The wall plug
transformer also poses a risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature, before connecting it to the power
supply and putting it in to use. This may take several hours.
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an authorised repair
shop.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
If you detect any damage, DO NOT connect the product to the mains supply!
A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not function or does not function properly (e.g. a burning smell)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor
pinched.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during trans-
portation:
- Damp or excess air humidity
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or fl ammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibration
• If the product is not to be used for some time (e.g. during storage), disconnect the
product from the power supply, unplug the wall plug transformer.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
