IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON HANDLING
STANDARD/RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
Please note the following instructions when handling standard/rechargeable batteries:
▪ RISK OF EXPLOSION AND INJURY! Never throw standard/rechargeable batteries into a fire.
Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
▪ When replacing rechargeable batteries/batteries, only use the same type of standard/rechargeable
battery or an equivalent.
▪ Always change all the standard/rechargeable batteries at the same time. Do not use a combination of
new and used standard/rechargeable batteries, i.e. those with unequal charges.
▪ RISK OF EXPLOSION AND INJURY! Never open standard/rechargeable batteries. Never solder or
weld standard/rechargeable batteries.
▪ RISK OF EXPLOSION AND INJURY! Do not short-circuit the connections.
▪ RISK OF FIRE AND EXPLOSION! Ensure that the standard/rechargeable batteries are inserted
correctly. Observe the (+) plus and (-) minus polarities on the rechargeable battery/battery and the
battery compartment. Improperly inserted standard/rechargeable batteries could leak or in extreme
cases cause a fire or explosion.
▪ RISK OF EXPLOSION! Never expose the standard/rechargeable batteries to excessive heat (e.g.
strong sunlight or fire).
▪ Check the standard/rechargeable batteries regularly. Leaking standard/rechargeable batteries can
cause damage to the appliance.
▪ DANGER OF INJURY! If standard/rechargeable batteries have leaked, remove them from the battery
compartment with the help of a cloth and dispose of them correctly. Avoid battery acid coming into
contact with your skin and eyes. If battery acid comes into contact with your eyes, rinse out your eyes
with lots of water and immediately contact a doctor. If battery acid comes into contact with your skin,
rinse the affected area immediately using lots of soap and water.
▪ Keep standard/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children. There is a risk that children could
put standard/rechargeable batteries in their mouth and swallow them. If a standard
battery/rechargeable has been swallowed, please obtain immediate medical assistance.
▪ Remove used standard/rechargeable batteries. Also remove the standard/rechargeable
batteries if you know that the appliance is not going to be used for a long period of time. Failure
to do so could result in the standard/rechargeable batteries leaking and causing damage.
▪ Please remove the standard/rechargeable batteries before disposing of this appliance.
▪ Standard/rechargeable batteries do not belong in the household rubbish.
▪ All consumers are obliged by law to dispose of standard/rechargeable batteries properly.
▪ If these instructions are not observed, the standard/rechargeable batteries may discharge beyond their
end-point voltage. There is then a risk of them leaking.
