1. Insert the PS3 ® gamepad into the TRACE Smartphone
Clip's holder.
2. Before doing so, make sure the gamepad is switched o .
If necessary, press and hold the PS ® button for around
10 seconds until the LEDs on the top of the gamepad
switch o .
3. Now position your smartphone at the best angle above the
gamepad using the suction-cup holder. Make sure that all
twelve suction cups are attached securely to the fl at side
of the smartphone and that the micro-USB port on the
smartphone is accessible.
4. Connect your smartphone to the PS3 ® gamepad using the
accompanying mini-USB to micro-USB cable. Depending
on the software version, a notifi cation will be displayed
on the smartphone saying that a new device has been
connected. The controller will be powered automatically
by the smartphone while connected. This ensures that the
controller is always ready to use. Be aware though that
this will reduce your smartphone's battery life slightly.
In some cases, the gamepad will activate automatically
when connected to the smartphone. If this doesn't
happen, activate the PS3 ® gamepad by pressing the
PS ® button briefl y.
5. Make sure your smartphone is unlocked. Now start a
suitable game that supports gamepad input. The input
commands di er depending on the software version
and game.
6. In the game, set the gamepad as the input device and
confi gure the buttons under the game's options settings.
