Auto focus USB microscope camera 2.0

Intended use
When combined with the stand, you may use the microscope camera as a common tabletop
microscope. The included software allows you to record photos and videos and to calculate
the distance, actual length and actual angle on the displayed image. Connect the microscope
camera to a computer via USB 2.0 port.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you
use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged.
In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc.
Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only
together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information
on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a) Persons / Product
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are
connected to the product.
• Attention, LED light: Do not look directly into the LED light! Do not look into the
beam directly or with optical instruments!
b) Miscellaneous
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the
device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.

Driver/software installation

• The operating software and application software are subject to constant updates. For that
reason this manual cannot describe all eventualities but only the software installation in
general.
• Start your operating system. Insert the included CD into the corresponding drive on your
computer. The software should start automatically for you to install. In case the CD does not
start automatically, you must manually start the installation program contained on the CD
(open main directory, "exe" file). Follow all instructions of the software. A new shortcut will be
created on the desktop of your computer.
• Connect the USB cable (2) to a free USB 2.0 port of your computer. The operating system
will detect the new hardware and complete the driver installation. Adhere to any manufacturer
information provided on the CD.

Operation

a) Basic software operations
• Start the software by double-clicking on the shortcut on the desktop.
• The symbol
(calibration – e.g. by using graph paper or the included calibration sheet) as reference for
future measurements or displays. For doing so, please follow the relevant instructions in the
English "help file". If you only want to view objects, you may just ignore this message.

Under menu option "Help > Operating instructions" you will find the detailed
description of the software.
b) Operating the microscope camera
• Place the microscope camera on the round fixture of the pedestal base. Loosen the locking
screw to adjust the fixture to the desired position. When set, fasten the locking screw again.
• Use the image magnification button 15 – 65x, 225x (1) to set the magnification:
- Setting 225 X
- Setting 15 – 65 X : If there is a distance of 0 – 15 cm between the lens and surface
• Hold the lens (3) of the microscope camera as close as possible to the desired object (e.g.
position the front on a daily newspaper).
• Press the auto focus AF button (6) in order to focus the microscope camera. Whilst focusing,
the indicator lamp (7) turns off. Use the precision adjustment buttons > (8) and < (9) to make
fine adjustments.
• The LED lamp (4) may cause bright images or reflections when viewing reflecting surfaces
or objects. If necessary, rotate the microscope camera or the object viewed, until the image
has been aligned as desired.
• Make sure no object comes in contact with the optics, as otherwise damage might be caused.
Also, do not reach into the optics (the lens would become dirty).
• Use the snapshot button (5) on top of the microscope camera to control the photo function
of the software.
