Preparation
• Attach the thin end of the enclosed carrying strap to the eye for the carrying strap (7). You can comfortably
hang the devices around your neck or shoulders using the carrying straps.
• Plug the enclosed earphone's plug into the EAR socket (2) on the receiver.
• Plug the enclosed microphone's plug into the MIC socket (5) on the transmitter.
• Fasten the microphone of the transmitter in a distance of about 5-10 cm from the mouth of the speaker.
• Attach the earphone of the receiver to the ear of the listener. The cable output of the earphone must point
toward the back.

Operation

• Adjust the volume of transmitter and receiver to the minimum using the VOL controls (4).
• Move the ON/OFF switches (10) of transmitter and receiver to the ON position to turn the devices on.
• The TX indication lights up in the display (8) of the transmitter, the RX indication lights up in the display (8)
of the receiver.
• The channel display (8a) indicates the set transmission channel.
• Set the transmission channel as follows:
- Press the operating key SET (9).
- The channel display (8a) fl ashes.
- Set the desired transmission channel using the arrow keys (9).
- Press the SET key (9) again to save the channel.
You must always set the same channels on the transmitter and the receiver, otherwise no radio
link is possible.
If you want to have, for example, a multilingual transmission, the transmitter and receiver of one
language must be set to the same channels.
A maximum of 4 different transmitter/receiver combinations can be operated at the same time as
only 4 different channels are available.
• The signal strength display (8c) indicates the connection quality between transmitter and receiver. It should
display as many segments as possible.
Possible reasons for connection problems:
Sources of electromagnetic disturbances are in close proximity to transmitter or receiver (mobile
telephones, radio equipment, computers, strong electric motors etc.)
There are obstacles in the path for the transmission of radio waves (metal surfaces, reinforced
concrete walls etc.)
The range of the system has been exceeded.
Another radio-based device causes transmission interferences. Try setting a different channel.
The batteries of transmitter and/or receiver are fl at.
• Adjust the volume of transmitter and receiver using the VOL controls (4).
Connecting external devices
Transmitter
If required, the transmitter may be used for the transmission of external audio signals. For example, you can
transmit a lecture which is saved on a playback device.
• Connect the audio output of the playback device (e.g. MP3 player) to the AUX IN socket (6) of the transmitter.
• Begin the playback of the playback device.
• The audio signal is transmitted by radio to the receiver.
Receiver
Instead of the earphone, you may also connect another playback device to the receiver (e.g. an active loud-
speaker system or a stereo equipment).
• Connect the audio input of the playback device to the AUX OUT socket (3) of the receiver.
• If required, enable the corresponding input on the playback device.
• The signal of the transmitter is transmitted by radio to the playback device.
