Before first use

Set-up location

– The appliance location must be
stable, even and heat-resistant.
– The appliance must be out of
the reach of young children.
– The appliance may not be locat-
ed on or directly next to a stove
top or any other heat source.
– The appliance may not be op-
erated directly beneath a wall
cupboard as heat is emitted
from below.
Cable tidy
A cable tidy is located beneath the
toaster. You may use this to short-
en the cable length if necessary.

First use

– Remove all packaging parts
and delivery packaging.
– Set up the toaster as previous-
ly described and connect the
mains plug to an easily acces-
sible, properly installed socket.
– Slide the adjuster (4) to toasting
power setting 7 and push down
the lever (9).
The toaster will start to heat up,

– Do this at least 5 times with the
toaster placed near an open
window.
Allow the toaster to cool be-
tween each instance of turning
it off and on.
Odour or smoke may be pro-
duced during initial use. This
is normal and is not an error.
Make sure there is adequate
ventilation.
– Once toast is complete the le-
ver (9) will spring back to its
original position and the oper-
ating indicator light
