Safety distances
The Fireplace must be placed at a suffi cient distance from walls, curtains, the ceiling
and all furnishings.
Warnings
1. Danger of explosion
Only the fuel specifi ed in the instructions may be used in the fi replace.
The container must be fi lled in the correct way.
The container must not be fi lled when the fl ame is burning.
Let the fi replace cool to room temperature after use before re-fi lling the container.
Cooling takes around 1½ hours.
2. Do not store fuel near the fi replace.
3. Do not leave the burning fl ame unattended.
4. Do not move the fi replace when in use as the fuel may spill.
5. Take care that children, pets, furniture, curtains etc. are kept at a
distance from the fi replace as its surface gets hot when in use.
6. Only use the fi replace in rooms with good ventilation.
7. Do not use the fi replace for preparing food and do not burn paper
or other foreign objects in the fi replace.
8. Do not light the fi replace if you suspect that it has been damaged.
9. Do not wash the glass or splash water on it etc. when the fi replace
is hot. Splashes can cause the glass to break.
10. Iittala will not be responsible for damage that results as a
consequence of using the fi replace contrary to the instructions.
11. Keep these instructions safe.
Fuel
Only denatured ethanol may be used as fuel in the fi replace.
Other names for the fuel include: methylated spirits (Australia & Great Britain),
denatured alcohol (USA), spirits (Europe), alcool à bruler (France).
