You have chosen a product from GNS characterised by high-quality and reliability.
We subject all GNS products to intensive function tests. The information presented here is a brief summary to
put your product into operation.

Safety notices
Never manipulate or adjust your GPS navigation system while driving.

Safeguard the GNS 9870 from moisture; observe the limits on operating and storage temperatures.

This device should only be operated at temperatures between 0° and 50° C. Do not expose the GNS 9870

to direct sunlight or heat and do not cover it.
Do not open or modify. Failure to comply will result in the guarantee and warranty becoming void. There
•
are no components inside that can be serviced by the user.
Only connect the GNS GNS 9870 to the connector types described in these instructions.

Be sure to respect the laws of the country you are in with respect to operation of devices whilst driving.
•
Do not operate the GNS 9870 with a damaged cord or if the unit has been dropped or damaged.

Do not bend the cable forcibly or place a heavy object on it. This will damage the cord and may cause fire

or electrical shock.
Ensure that your GNS 9870 is firmly fixed in your car to avoid damage.

General product description of GNS 9870
GNS 9870 is a GPS RDS/TMC receiver with the newest 32 channel high sensitive MTK 3318 GPS Chip.
The GNS 9870 enables the utilisation of the following:
a) Positioning signals from the worldwide freely available GPS navigation system.
b) The traffic messages from the widely available TMC (Traffic Message Channel) information system.
In combination with a suitable navigation program, the GNS 9870 provides satellite-supported navigation.
