B - PUTTING INTO OPERATION
INSTALLING THE CAMPINGAZ
CARTRIDGE
(Where the existing cartridge is empty, read paragraph
D : "Removing the cartridge")
When installing or changing a cartridge, always opera-

never near a flame, heat source or spark (cigarette,
electric apparatus, etc.) and far away from other peo-
ple and inflammable materials.

c) Hold the stove (caution - it may be hot!) and gently
screw the cartridge (4) onto the stove clockwise until
you hear a click (about one sixth of a turn) (fig. 2). Do
not tighten the cartridge further, as you may damage
its valve.
d) Place the stabiliser (3) underneath the cartridge (fig. 2).
If there is a leak (smell of gas), put the lamp outside
immediately, in a well ventilated area, without heat sour-
ce, where the leak can be traced and stopped. If you
wish to check that your lamp is not leaking, do so outsi-
de. Never trace leaks using a flame, use a gas leak
solution.
The lamp is now ready to operate.
C - USE
1) Additional instructions:
Do not use your lamp at a distance closer than 20
cm to a wall or flammable object, nor closer than
40 cm to a ceiling (distance from the top of the
glass).
Place the lamp on a horizontal surface.
Avoid making any sudden movements with the
lamp, to prevent large flames appearing, caused by
the combustion of liquid butane instead of vapori-
sed butane. If this occurs, extinguish the lamp by
closing the tap.
If there is a leak (i.e. you can smell gas), close the tap.
When in use (or immediately after it is turned off),
the heat given off by the burner makes some parts
of the lamp extremely hot (including the glass and
the perfume diffuser).
It is dangerous to touch these parts with bare
hands. Doing so can cause serious burns.
2) Lighting the Ambiance Lantern (fig. 3)
a) Move the lever (2) to the "-" position (towards the left).
b) Insert a lighted match in the opening near the lever
(2), at the bottom of the glass. Important: never insert
a match via the top of the glass.
c) Gradually open the gas by turning the control knob
(1) anti-clockwise.
3) during operation
Adjust the height of the flame by pivoting the lever (2)
towards the right ("+") for more flame or towards the left
("-") for less flame (Fig. 4).
The flame can also be adjusted by turning wheel (1) in
the "+" of "-" direction of the arrow. The flame should
ideally be between 4 and 5 cm high approximately (Fig.
10).
Important: Turn the wheel (1) or the lever (2) to reduce
the height of the flame if it extends beyond the glass.
4) Switching off
Close the tap by turning the control knob (1) clockwise
as far as it will go (direction "-" of the arrow) (fig. 5). Well
tighten the wheel to ensure that the gas is completely
turned off.
5) Ambiance perfume diffuser
Comply scrupulously with the precautions for use
supplied with the ambiance perfumes.
a - Setting in place
- Check that the gas inlet is closed properly by turning
the wheel (1) fully clockwise (arrow direction "-")
(Fig. 5).
- Wait for the lamp to cool down.
