Using Windows Plug and Play
1. Plug HomeC@m into a USB port and, if you have a sound card or onboard audio, plug the
microphone in as shown in the diagram below left. A message is displayed saying that a new
device has been found.
2. Insert the HomeC@m CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and select Add New
Hardware wizard.
3. Follow the Plug and Play instructions. The Windows 98 drivers are in the root directory of the
CD-ROM, and the Windows 95 drivers are in the folder HomeC@m\Win95.
After installing the camera, if you choose to run the test, it should show an image taken by
HomeC@m. The HomeC@m Installer now starts the Home Page on the CD-ROM.

Troubleshooting

If you have a problem installing HomeC@m, go through these troubleshooting tips. For more tips,
refer to the Support section of the HomeC@m Home Page on the CD-ROM. If you still have
problems contact your region's technical support team, as listed on the back of this guide.
Windows 95 fails to detect HomeC@m.
This could be because your Universal Serial Bus device is incorrectly installed.
Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel. Double-click the System icon, and click the
Device Manager tab. In the devices list look for the Universal Serial Bus device, which may be
under Other Devices. If it has a yellow exclamation mark next to it then click it, click Remove, click
OK, and restart Windows.
HomeC@m works fine until I restart Windows 98.
This is a known problem with certain PC systems running Windows 98 and certain USB chipsets.
To fix it, unplug and re-plug HomeC@m.
