Introduction
Thank you for buying HomeC@m. HomeC@m is so easy to install you probably won't even need
to read this, but keep it to hand in case you have any problems.
There is documentation on the CD-ROM that gives more HomeC@m details, late-breaking
information, and step-by-step technical support. You can read it in the Support section of the
HomeC@m Home Page on the CD-ROM, or browse to the ReadMe.htm file in the ReadMe folder.
Installing
We recommend that you use the HomeC@m Installer, as it installs the software quickly and easily,
tests the camera, and displays the HomeC@m Home Page on the CD-ROM. If you prefer to use
Windows Plug and Play, you can do so by following the instructions opposite.
Using the HomeC@m Installer
1. Insert the HomeC@m CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
If you are running Windows 95, the HomeC@m Installer tests whether your computer can run
HomeC@m, and installs additional software if necessary. If this happens you may have to
restart your computer, and when it
restarts, click Skip when asked to install
the files usbd.sys or usbhub.sys.
2. When prompted, select the HomeC@m
Installer as recommended, and follow the
on-screen instructions.
When prompted to plug HomeC@m into
your USB port, find a port at the back of
your PC as shown in the diagram to the
right (or if you have a USB hub you can
use that if you prefer), and plug in
HomeC@m's USB connector. The USB port
is identified by the USB symbol
If you have a sound card or onboard
audio, locate the microphone socket and
insert HomeC@m's jack plug as shown. The
microphone socket is usually identified by the word MIC, or the microphone symbol .
After installing the camera, if you run the test, it should show an image taken by HomeC@m.
The HomeC@m Installer now starts the Home Page on the CD-ROM.
