General Information of Solar Technology
To avoid damage of the battery, the watch should always be char-
ged up to its minimum. Therefore it is recommended to store the
watch in a light place.
1. Initial Setup
(important for correct setting of the radio-controlled watch)
Due to heavy shocks or magnetic fields the hand position may dif-
fer from the internally saved radio time. The initial setup serves to
resynchronise the hands with the internally saved radio time.
- Pull out the crown on position 1 and set the previous day's date
through turning left.
- Now pull out the crown on position 2 and press MODE stepwise
to set the second hand on 12:00. After this, turn the crown left until
the right date is shown. Now adjust minute- and hour hand exactly
on 12:00 (at noon). After this, push the crow on zero position.
- Now, the second hand will rotate to 11:00 and radio-signal will
be received.
The initial setting is now complete. The watch should now receive
the radio signal and set itself to the correct time. This process will
take up to 8 minutes.
2. Checking Radio Reception
The radio clock will attempt to receive the DCF77 radio-control
signal every day between 3:00 and 4:00. However, interference
with reception might occur due to thunderstorms or electrical distur-
bance.
- Press SET.
- If the second hand rotates to 12:00, the reception attempt was
successful.
- If the second hand rotates to 6:00, the reception attempt was not
successful.
- In both cases the second hand will stop (at 12:00 or 06:00) for
about 5 sec. After this, the watch returns to the saved time.
3. Manual Mode
When travelling to a country that does not lie within the Central
European Standard Time (GMT+1) or the Central European
Summer Time (GMT+2), the local time may be changed as follows:
- Pull out the crown on position 2 and press stepwise button MODE
until second hand is on 06:00.
- Now push SET for about 5 seconds until the second hand rotates
to 12:00.
- Due rotating the crown you're setting the local time.
- After local time is set, the crown has to be pushed in zero positi-
on. Now the watch is running in manual mode.
Calendar function is not available in manual mode.
4. Reset (Change from manual mode to radio mode)
- This point refers to no. 1. (Initial Setup)
5. This product equates to the EMV guidelines of the EU.
Ensure that the crown is returned to the normal operating
position before the watch comes in contact with water.
