Instructions on the individual manufacture of
orthopaedic inlays using the HAIX

Only a few points need to be borne in mind with regard to the manufacture of HAIX
soles in compliance with Rule 112-191 of the German Association of Statutory Accident
Insurance Providers (DGUV) and in accordance with Austrian Standard ÖN-Z1259-2012.

You can build up and adjust the inlay to meet the requirements of the wearer as long as you take
account of the area beneath the toe cap which cannot be altered (at least 10 centimetres from the
tip of the footbed to the area of the balls of the feet)�
PLEASE NOTE:
Only an EVA wedge with a minimum hardness of 40° shore A and a maximum hardness of
50° shore A may be used to build up the footbed�
OUR RECOMMENDATION:
1� EVA blank approximately 40° shore A –
for safety and work shoes subjected to normal use
2� EVA blank approximately 50° shore A –
for safety and work shoes subjected to heavy-duty use (e�g� fire fighter with equipment)
WARNING:
The antistatic properties and ESD capability of all EG prototype-tested HAIX
ety footwear are secured via an electrically conductible textile strip on the inside of the shoe� This
grey anti-static band must extend at least 5 centimetres into the shoe� In order to continue to be
able to guarantee conductivity, the inlay must not cover the strip and the contact area to the foot
needs to be about 4 centimetres� In light of the above information regarding the conductive strip,
the use of antistatic or ESD-capable materials (such as EVA / adhesive) is NOT NECESSARY�
