OVERVIEW

SET UP

1. Plug the included AC power adapter into the "IN 18 V" jack. Then plug the AC adapter into a reliable wall
outlet. The "Power" LED will light up. (See "Troubleshooting" below, if the LED fails to light up.)
2. Before plugging in any of your pedals or stomp boxes, CHECK THE POLARITY of your effects unit's input
jack. The cables that are provided with the MPS-730 support the connection of Sleeve (-) and Tip (+).
The occupation of the mono jack-plug has to be as follows:
If your effects unit is configured differently, or if you're not sure, DO NOT PLUG THE UNIT INTO THE
MPS-730!
3. Check the voltage and milliamp (mA) requirement of each pedal or stomp box to be plugged in. The
MPS-730 supports 9 V power and up to 55 mA through each of the front 7 jacks (385 mA in total). It also
supports 18 V power up to 325 mA through the 3 jacks on the right side for linking further MPS-730s. All
outputs can be used simultaneously for a total power output of 1000 mA - well beyond what is needed for
most applications.
4. Twelve effects power cords are included with the MPS-730. Nine are for 9 V applications, and use two
different ends. The seven cords with a mini-phone plug end (3.5 mm) plug into the MPS-730, in one of the
seven 9 V jacks along the front. The other end uses a coaxial (5.5 mm x 2.1 mm) plug for your effects. Then
there are two coaxial to coaxial cords that can be plugged in either direction. Three cords are included for
18 V effects power. These have 5.5 mm x 2.1 mm connectors at both ends, and can be plugged in either
direction. ALL included cables use the standard polarity of negative (-) Sleeve and positive (+) Tip.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. If the Power LED fails to light on the MPS-730, the AC outlet may be dead or faulty. Try plugging the AC
adapter into another outlet, or test the outlet with another device, like an electric lamp. If the AC outlet tests
positive but the MPS-730 still isn't on, double-check all the plugs to be sure they're inserted securely.
2. The Power LED will not light if one of the effects plugged into the MPS-730 is shorted. Isolate the problem
by unplugging the effects one at a time to determine the source of the problem.
