• This appliance is not intended for use
by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
• The appliance is only to be used with
the power supply unit provided with the
appliance.
• Ensure that the fire lighter is properly
positioned.
• Allow to cool before storage.
• Do not allow the hot parts of the fire
lighter to touch the cord or other flam-
mable materials.
4. Safety Notes for the Battery, the
Power Supply and the Charger
• Make sure the main voltage corre-
sponds to the voltage stated on the
type label. Only plug the battery charger
to 100 – 240 VDC mains power.
• Only use the battery and the charger
included in delivery with the Maxxfire.
• Keep the battery, if not inserted into the
Maxxfire and not in use, away from
metal objects such as paper clips,
coins, keys, nails and the likes, which
might short-circuit the terminals.
• Upon incorrect use, liquid may leak
from the battery. Avoid contact with this
liquid. Wash the skin with water. If the
eyes are contaminated, consult a physi-
cian immediately.
• A defective or worn battery must be
disposed of in accordance with the
relevant regulations.
• Do not submerge the battery in water or
burn it. There is a danger of explosion!
• Immediately replace a defective battery
(i. e. defective case).
• The power supply unit is specially
designed for use with the Maxxfire. Do
not attempt to charge/use with other
devices. Do not attempt to charge the
battery with other types of charger.
• If the battery charger is not in use,
unplug it from power mains. Also
unplug while cleaning or maintaining
the charger or power supply unit.
• Only charge, operate and store the bat-
tery at an ambient temperature
between 10 ºC and 40 ºC.
• Protect battery and battery charger
from humidity. Do not operate the bat-
tery charger out-doors.
• Take special care of the battery. Avoid
dropping it onto any hard surface and
do not subject it to pressure or any
other form of mechanical stress. Keep
the battery away from extreme heat and
cold.
• The unit is designed for operation in
altitudes of up to 2000 m above sea
level.
• Do not open or attempt to repair the
battery or the battery charger. If any
parts are dam-aged, have them repaired
by a qualified technician or contact our
customer service.
• Use power tools only with specifically
designated battery packs. Use of any
other battery packs may create a risk of
injury and fire.
• When disposing of batteries, follow the
instructions given in the section
"Disposal".
• If the power tool is to be stored unused
for a long period, the battery should be
removed
• Important Danger! Never short-circuit
the battery or expose it to moisture. Do
not store it together with any metal
parts which could short-circuit the con-
tacts. The battery could overheat, start
burning or explode.
