This is an installation guide to help set-up networks larger than 12 units and provides the best
practices for quick and trouble-free installation. Please refer to your product user manual for
more details. Please refer to local standards for legal requirements.
LARGE WI-SAFE NETWORK (NETWORK >12 UNITS)
Location of the Wi-Safe 2 alarms
•
It is recommended not to exceed 35m as the maximum distance between any interlinked
Wi-Safe 2 alarm. Ideally, each unit should have three or more units within 35m of its
location. RF range can be reduced by walls, and other obstructions in the building. The
distance between units should be reduced if obstructions may interfere with RF range.
•
Avoid placing units where they are surrounded by metal beams.
•
For the best user experience, creating multiple networks or zones is advised rather than one
very large network.
•
Avoid installation of Wi-Safe 2 networks where a mobile tower is in close proximity of the
building.
•
