BK-BBQ Wireless Grill Thermometer

Intended use
The wireless grill thermometer is used to measure and monitor the temperature of barbecued and grilled
food.
It is suitable only for use in the private sector. Commercial use is not permitted.
The product is not dishwasher-safe.
The power may only be supplied by batteries (type: see "Technical data").
Any use other than as described above is not permitted and can damage the product. In addition, it can lead
to hazards such as short-circuiting, fire, etc.
Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later reference.
No part of the product may be modified or converted.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.

Safety instructions
First, read the complete operating instructions carefully, as they contain important infor-
mation about proper operation of the device.
Damage due to failure to follow these operating instructions will void the warranty! We do
not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty will be null
and void!
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modification to the product is not
permitted.
• The wireless grill thermometer is not a professional measuring device. Please use high-quality
measuring equipment if you need high measurement accuracy.
• The manufacturer does not accept any liability for incorrect or inaccurate readings or any
consequences resulting from such readings.
• The base station and the receiver are not suited for the high temperatures that the insertion
probe can measure. Placing the whole wireless grill thermometer in e.g. a baking oven or grill
is not permitted. Keep the base station and the receiver away from hot ambient temperatures
and hot surfaces.
• The wireless grill thermometer is not suited for use in a microwave.
• Avoid subjecting the device to severe mechanical stress. Do not expose it to strong vibration,
high humidity or damp.
• This product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children.
• This device can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and / or knowledge, if they are provided with supervision or instructions
concerning the safe use of the device and understand the resulting risks.
• Do not leave packaging materials unattended. It may become a dangerous plaything for chil-
dren.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impact, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
• Also observe any further safety instructions in the individual chapters of these operating in-
structions.
• If you have any doubts about the correct operation, or the safety of the product, please consult
a specialist.

Inserting/replacing batteries
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed
by children or domestic animals. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use
suitable protective gloves.
Batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, risk of explosion! Only recharge
rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries (pay attention to plus/+
and minus/–).
Never use batteries with different charge states or of different types or manufacturers
together in one battery compartment.
Remove batteries from the device if you will not be using it for a longer period.
• Open the battery compartment cover on the underside of the base station and on the back of the receiver.
The attachment clip on the receiver can be removed to make it easier to reach the battery compartment.
• If necessary, remove the flat batteries.
• Insert two new 1.5 V micro (AAA) batteries in each compartment; pay attention to the correct polarity. The
correct polarity is printed in the battery compartment.
• Close the battery compartment cover again.
• If the display contrast on the receiver fades or if the display is no longer visible, the receiver batteries are
flat and must be replaced. If the wireless range reduces sharply, the batteries in the base station are flat
and must be replaced.
Preparations
• Before the first use, clean the insertion probe as described under "Maintenance and cleaning".
• The base station can be stood up or attached to another object with the provided Velcro tape strips. To do
this, pull the Velcro strips through the two lugs on the underside of the base station. In addition, magnets
are attached to the base station, with which it can also be attached to metal surfaces.
• The receiver can be attached to your clothing with the attachment clip or, alternatively, set in the base
station. There are also magnets on the attachment clip that enable you to attach the receiver to metal
surfaces.
• Plug the plug of the insertion probe into the connection socket on the side of the base station.
Never catch the lead of the insertion probe e.g. in oven doors or under grill covers.
Operation
The insertion probe and its connection cable heat up significantly in operation. Touch
these parts during or immediately after use only with gloves, never with your bare hands.
• Use the switch 1-2-3 on the back of the base station for selecting the desired sending channel (1, 2
or 3). This channel must be set before the connection with the receiver and must not be changed during
the operation.
• In case of operating simultaneously several systems, must be selected different channels on the respecti-
ve base stations, and then the respective systems must be switched on successively as described in the
next sections.
• First, slide the POWER switch on the back of the receiver to the ON position.
• Then slide the POWER switch on the back of the base station to the ON position.
• As soon as the wireless connection has been established, the base station sends the measured tempera-
ture to the receiver. It is shown in the temperature indicator of the display under CURRENT TEMP.
