UNPACKING INSTRUCTION
CAUTION! Carefully unpack the box upon receipt. Check the contents to ensure that all parts are present and have been
received in good condition. Notify the shipper immediately and retain packaging material if any parts appear damaged from
shipping or the package itself shows signs of mishandling. Save the package and all packaging materials. If the product must be
returned, it is important that the product is returned in the original factory box and packaging.
If the device has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuation (e.g. after transportation), do not switch it on immediately. The
arising condensation water might damage your device. Leave the device switched off until it has reached room temperature.
DESCRIPTION
The pendant speakers are hanging speakers ideal for use in PA background music systems. These speakers are equipped with
a 4 inch woofer and a 0,75 inch tweeter for perfect speech reproduction and good music performance. The combination of 8
Ohm and 100V makes these pendant speakers ideal for use in offices, shops, showrooms, restaurants, etc.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Prior to installing the speaker into any ceiling, check the structure for weight bearing ability and avoid contact with any wiring or
plumbing that might be behind the surface area. Installing on soft materials or in areas incapable of supporting the speakers'
weight may cause personal injury or damage to the speaker. When installing the speaker outside, choose areas such as the
underside of eaves to avoid strong direct sunlight which may affect the color and life of the speaker enclosure.
When placing the speakers on a wall or shelf, it is recommended that speakers be installed at the level of the ear or slightly
higher.
Damage to the woofer and tweeter may occur if the speaker is dropped or hit - resulting in no sound or distorted sound.
Use only approved and certified wiring in your installation, do not stretch or place the wire in contact with sharp objects.
Never overdrive your speakers to the point of distortion and always reduce volume prior to switching input sources (e.g.: FM to
CD).
Turn off the power to the speaker when unused for long periods of time.
INSTALLATION
Use the rotary switch to set the speaker in the correct working mode.
Cabling of a 70/100V system may only be carried out by a qualified electrician! The total load must not
exceed the rated power of the amplifier. If the 70/100V system is turned on, turn it off before
connecting. Connect the speaker(s) to the 70/100V amplifier output, using a two-core 100Volt suitable
cable.
If you are connecting multiple speakers, make sure that all speakers have the same polarity and that
the amplifier is not overloaded.
LOW IMPEDANCE
The low impedance mode of the PURITY series speaker has a nominal impedance of 8Ω. If there is the need to connect
multiple speakers in parallel, be sure to follow the amplifier's specifications regarding the minimum allowed impedance. Most
amplifiers allow for a minimum of 4Ω impedance, which translates to two PURITY series speakers connected in parallel.
70/100 VOLT
Use the rotary switch to configure the desired power tap when using the PURITY series speaker in 70/100V configuration.
Make sure you are using a powerful enough amplifier for your setup of PURITY series speakers. It is recommended to have
about 20% of reserve power. In below case of the 6" model (100V), you will need at least roughly 140W of amplifier power
((40+40+40) x 1.2 =144W).
Always insulate the unused connection cables.
