Menu functions
The BNC-VGA converter has an on-screen menu (OSD), which can be used to set different
image functions (e.g. brightness, contrast, etc.) as well as the VGA output resolution.
The BNC-VGA converter is operated using the buttons on its front side.
• Press the MENU button to show the on-screen menu.
The menu only appears on the monitor connected to the VGA output.
• Select the desired function by pressing the "MENU" button several times:
"BRIGHTNESS"
brightness
"CONTRAST"
contrast
"SATURATION"
colour saturation
"HUE"
resultant colour shift (only with NTSC)
"SHARPNESS":
sharpness of image
"RESOLUTION"
resolution for VGA output (can be set to 640 x 480, 800 x 600,
1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024; refresh rate is 60 Hz each)
• The buttons "
" and "
" can be used to change the relevant setting.
• Press the "EXIT" button to close the menu; all settings made are saved.
Furthermore, the menu is automatically left each time you don't press a button for
about 20 seconds. With the exception of resolution settings, all of the other set-
tings are applied automatically.
Resolution settings are only applied if you press the "EXIT" button after chang-
ing the settings. This prevents changing the resolution accidentally.
Resetting to Factory Settings
Resetting to factory settings may be necessary if you set a VGA monitor resolution in
the on-screen menu that is not supported by the VGA monitor.
Example: You set a resolution of 1280 x 1024, but the monitor only supports a maxi-
mum of 1024 x 768; no image is shown on the VGA monitor in this case.
Proceed as follows:
• Disconnect the BNC-VGA converter from the power supply (either pull out the
power adapter from the mains socket or pull out the round jack from the low-voltage
plug of the BNC-VGA converter).
• Keep the "EXIT" button pressed down and re-connect the BNC-VGA converter to the
power supply.
• Release the "EXIT" button.
• Then, all settings in the on-screen menu are reset to factory settings, the VGA output
is set to a resolution of 800 x 600.
Maintenance and Care
• The product does not require maintenance. Repair or maintenance work must be
carried out by a specialist.
• Disconnect the BNC-VGA converter from the power supply before cleaning; pull out
the power adapter from the mains socket.
• Clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the
housing or impair operation.
Do not apply too much pressure on the housing surface, this could result in scratch
marks.
Dust can be very easily removed with a soft, clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
